Objective: To investigate the pulmonary function of children with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.

Methods: A total of 328 children aged 3 to 12 years old who were evaluated for a sleep disorder from January 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the observation group, classified into mild, moderate, and severe categories based on the apnea hypopnea index. The number of children with mild, moderate, and severe obstructive sleep apnea is 228, 62, and 28 respectively.

This study aims to summarize the data and treatment of 35 children with Work type II congenital first branchial cleft anomalies (CFBCAs) to provide significant insights into the correlation between these anomalies and the facial nerve. A total of 35 children diagnosed with Work type II CFBCAs who received treatment at the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Shenzhen Children's Hospital from August 2017 to March 2023 were analyzed retrospectively. Pearson chi-square tests and Fisher's exact tests were used to examine the relationship between clinical characteristics and the location of the lesion, which included the superficial and deep surfaces as well as the area between the branches of the facial nerve.

Background: Small RNA (sRNA) play pivotal roles in reproductive development, and their biogenesis and action mechanisms are well characterised in angiosperm plants; however, corresponding studies in conifers are very limited. To improve our understanding of the roles of sRNA pathways in the reproductive development of conifers, the genes associated with sRNA biogenesis and action pathways were identified and analysed, and sRNA sequencing and parallel analysis of RNA ends (PARE) were performed in male and female cones of the Chinese pine (Pinus tabuliformis).

Results: Based on high-quality reference transcriptomic sequences, 21 high-confidence homologues involved in sRNA biogenesis and action in P.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of diagnosis-related group (DRG) payments on health-care providers' behavior and the potential best course of action to make a profit under a DRG payment mechanism.

Methods: This is a natural experiment study with a tertiary hospital-based dataset. Under a consecutive three-period (3 years) or 12-period (12 seasons) design, length of stay, medical cost with detailed items, the percentage of general anesthesia (GA), and the percentage of receiving additional operations were compared.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study focuses on the Chinese pine (Pinus tabuliformis), a conifer species in northern China, addressing the lack of genomic resources by generating large-scale transcriptome data through next-generation sequencing.
  • - The researchers sequenced the first full transcriptome from multiple tissues and individuals, producing over 911,000 reads and identifying around 46,584 putative transcripts along with numerous SSRs and SNPs/InDels.
  • - This extensive data set expands the existing P. tabuliformis transcript catalog, aiding future breeding programs and comparative genomics studies across conifer species while identifying genes that may influence speciation.
