In this study, the liver injury model of As poisoned Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats was established, and the potential mechanism was investigated by metabonomics and ionomics. A total of 164 differential expressed metabolites (DEMs) were identified between the As poisoned group and the control group, which mainly involved in nicotinate and nicotinamide metabolism, steroid hormone biosynthesis, taurine and hypotaurine metabolism, and porphyrin metabolism.

Here, a surface-confined and sequence-controlled chiral copolymer is synthesized by the organometallic reactions between the achiral precursors 4,4″-dibromo-1,1':3',1''-terphenyl and 1-ethynyl-4-[2-(4-ethynylphenyl)ethynyl]benzene on an achiral Ag(111) surface. Combined scanning tunneling microscopy and density functional theory explorations show that the terminal alkyne and aromatic bromide precursors undergo dehydrogenated and debrominated metalations with surface Ag adatoms to yield the organometallic polymeric products.

The tyrosine residue in amyloid-β (Aβ) is susceptible to attack by various reactive nitrogen intermediates, leading to the formation of 3-nitrotyrosine (3-NT), a post-translational modification associated with the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Although considered a "dead-end" product, emerging evidence suggests that 3-NT can be reduced to 3-aminotyrosine (3-AT) in vivo. This study aims to validate the amination of Aβ tyrosine under physiological conditions and systematically investigate its impact on the aggregation and neurotoxicity of Aβ42.

Near-infrared spectral tomography (NIRST) is a non-invasive imaging technique that provides functional information about biological tissues. Due to diffuse light propagation in tissue and limited boundary measurements, NIRST image reconstruction presents an ill-posed and ill-conditioned computational problem that is difficult to solve. To address this challenge, we developed a reconstruction algorithm (Model-CNN) that integrates a diffusion equation model with a convolutional neural network (CNN).

Objective: This study aimed to characterize the causes of death and compute the risk of mortality due to each cause among patients with malignant adrenal tumours.
Methods: Data from malignant adrenal tumour patients were collected from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database (2004-2020). With reference data from the general population, the standardized mortality ratio (SMR) was calculated to assess all causes of death for malignant adrenal tumour patients.
Background: Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a severe mental illness, and the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD) is commonly used to quantify its severity. Our aim is to develop a predictive model for MDD symptoms using machine learning techniques based on effective connectivity (EC) from resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI).
New Method: We obtained large-scale rs-fMRI data and HAMD scores from the multi-site REST-meta-MDD dataset.
Background: To investigate the effect of preoperative immunonutritional status on prognosis in epithelial ovarian cancer patients.
Methods: A multicenter real-world study included 922 patients with histologically confirmed epithelial ovarian cancer who received comprehensive staged surgery or debulking surgery at seven tertiary hospitals in China between 2012 and 2023. Prognostic nutritional index (PNI) and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) were used to assess the immunonutritional status for their superior predictive power to indicate the nutritional status and the inflammatory immunity.
In frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) light detection and ranging (LIDAR), the nonlinearity of the laser frequency modulation causes an increase in the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the beat signal. This increase seriously affects the ranging precision. In this Letter, a nonlinear correction method based on superlets transform (SLT) is proposed to build a FMCW LIDAR measurement system with an auxiliary interferometer.

Although rationally linkage microenvironmental regulation is an effective approach to adjusting activity, the underlying fundamental mechanism is incompletely understood. Herein, systematic DFT calculations and experimental investigation of PFePc analogous reveal that the incorporation of the electron-withdrawing benzophenone linkage into the PFePc backbone (PFePc-3) drives the delocalization of Fe d-orbital electrons, downshifts the d-band energy level, thereby tailoring the key OH* intermediate interaction, demonstrating enhanced ORR performance with a half-wave potential of 0.

Mitochondrial damage and dysfunction often occur concomitantly in myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI). Notoginsenoside R1 (NGR1), a unique saponin from the traditional Chinese medicine Panax notoginseng, has been shown to alleviate MIRI in previous studies, though its precise mechanism remains unclear.

Traditionally, epistasis has been modeled using the Cartesian epistatic model, a multiplicative approach based on standard statistical regression. However, a recent study investigating epistasis in obesity-related traits has identified potential limitations of the Cartesian epistatic model, revealing that it likely only detects a fraction of the genetic interactions occurring in natural systems.

Through simulationand experimental validation, the heating and holding stage as well as the thermal hysteresis phenomenon of the furnace were analyzed, a dimensionless quantity of hysteresis temperature difference was proposed and calculated, the distribution of the electric field and temperature uniformity of the furnace were discussed in detail, while the structural improvement approach was proposed based on simulation. The results show that: during the heating process, the maximum of thermal hysteresis temperature difference between the graphite cylinder and the heating tube is 0.
