Long-chain linear alkylbenzenes (LABs) are essential precursors to produce alkylbenzene sulfonates, which have high surfactant properties and are readily biodegradable, widely used in various detergents. However, an effective and rapid method for the direct analysis and quality control of LAB chemical composition still needs to be improved. This study uses high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with microwave plasma torch mass spectrometry (HPLC-MPT-MS) to analyze the composition of long-chain LABs and quantify nine of these components.

Maternal immune activation (MIA) is a principal environmental risk factor contributing to autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and can be causally linked to ASD symptoms. In our study, we found that MIA triggered by poly (I: C) injection caused ventriculomegaly in offspring due to the dysfunction of the choroid plexus (Chp) and ependyma. We subsequently identified a sustained enhancement of interferon-γ (IFN-γ) signaling in the brain and serum of MIA offspring.

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a progressive and life-threatening cardiopulmonary disease that is not uncommon. The modulation of the pulmonary artery (PA) involves various fatty acids, including omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω-6 PUFAs) and ω-6 PUFAs-derived oxylipins. These lipid mediators are produced through cyclooxygenase (COX), lipoxygenase (LOX), cytochrome P450 (CYP450), and non-enzymatic pathways.

Previous studies have demonstrated that silica can activate the NLRP3 inflammasome, and that macrophage phagocytosis is an essential step in this process. Although carbon is the primary component of coal dust particles, it also contains other impurities such as free silica, clay, sulfides, and carbonate minerals. Additional research is still necessary to discover if NLRP3 can be triggered due to the low silica content of coal dust particles.

Coal seam water injection is widely applied to prevent mine disasters. In the traditional water migration model of water-injected coal, from ignoring capillary force in the seepage stage to generating the capillary dynamic during the spontaneous imbibition state, no transition state exists from 0 to generating capillary force. In this paper, on the basis of theoretical analysis, an equivalent capillary term is introduced to modify the Forchheimer model, and then a seepage-transition-spontaneous imbibition model that is suitable for water migration of water-injected coal is proposed.
