This report describes a 42-year-old female patient who presented with an intensive nocturnal dry cough persisting for over six months. Subsequent to the prolonged cough, she developed shoulder and neck discomfort, leading her to seek chiropractic care. The patient received cervical chiropractic adjustments combined with the Koren Specific Technique (KST) emotions protocol.

Theoretical predictions of the CO absorption flux were analyzed by developing the mathematical formulations based on Happel's free surface model in terms of mass transfer resistances in series. The experiments of the CO absorption were conducted by using alumina (AlO) hollow-fiber membranes to confirm the accuracy of the theoretical predictions.

The aims of this study were to investigate CRCI and concomitant quality of life among patients with GIST.
Methods: An online survey was used to assess CRCI in adult patients with GIST using the validated Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Cognitive-v.
Effect of external-recycle operations on the heat-transfer efficiency, specifically for the power-law fluid flowing in double-pass concentric circular heat exchanger under sinusoidal wall fluxes, is investigated theoretically in the developed countries. Given that the fluid is heated twice on both sides of the impermeable sheet, four flow patterns proposed in recycling double-pass operations are expected to make substantial improvements in the performance of heat exchanger device in this study. Theoretical predictions point out that the heat-transfer efficiency increases with the ratio of channel thickness of double-pass concentric circular heat exchanger for all new designs under the same working dimension and the operational condition.

The CO absorption into monoethanolamine (MEA) solutions was treated as chemical absorption, accompanied by a large equilibrium constant. The experimental work of the CO absorption flux using MEA solution was conducted in double-unit flat-plate membrane contactors with embedded 3D turbulence promoters under various absorbent flow rates, CO feed flow rates, and inlet CO concentrations in the gas feed stream for both concurrent and countercurrent flow operations.

The structure exhibits mirror disorder of the main molecule that is not present in the bromide analogue. The relatively small number of unique reflections in the data set and the disorder imposed by the crystallographic mirror plane present a challenging educational case study.

The one-dimensional mathematical modeling equation developed for predicting the absorption rate and concentration distributions was solved numerically using the fourth Runge-Kutta method under various absorbent flow rate, CO feed flow rate and inlet CO concentration in the gas feed. An economical viewpoint of the spiral wired module was examined by assessing both absorption flux improvement and power consumption increment.

Such ADCs are known to suffer from inefficient trafficking to the lysosome due to HER2 endosomal recycling, leaving most bound ADCs at the cell surface or in early endosomes. This study aims to increase the maximum cytotoxicity of ADC treatment by co-delivering a small molecule inhibitor targeting the primary chaperone of HER2, heat shock protein 90 (HSP90).

The polycrystalline 2D-SnO memristors derived from a low-temperature and vacuum-free liquid metal process offer several interesting resistive switching properties such as excellent digital/analog resistive switching, multistate storage, and gate-tunability function of resistance switching states. Significantly, the gate tunability function that is not achievable in conventional two-terminal memristors provides the capability to implement heterosynaptic analog switching by regulating gate bias for enabling complex neuromorphic learning.

Modern classifications of Ormosia are not grounded on a well-substantiated phylogenetic hypothesis and have been limited to just portions of the geographical range of the genus. The lack of an evolutionarily-based foundation for systematic studies has hindered taxonomic work on the genus and prevented the testing of biogeographical hypotheses related to the origin of the Old World/New World disjunction and the individual dispersal histories within both areas.

Methods: A population-based physiological-based PK (PBPK) model to characterize antibody PK in paediatrics has been developed, by incorporating age-related changes in body weight, organ weight, organ blood flow rate and interstitial volumes in a previously published platform model. The model was further used to perform Monte Carlo simulations to investigate clearance vs.
Quantitative modeling of the subcutaneous absorption processes of protein therapeutics is challenging. Here we have proposed a "two-pore" PBPK model that is able to simultaneously characterize plasma PK of different-size protein therapeutics in mice. The skin compartment is evolved to mechanistically account for the absorption pathways through lymph and blood capillaries, as well as local degradation at the SC injection site.

The DCMD device was performed at middle temperature operation (about 45 °C to 60 °C) of hot inlet saline water associated with a constant temperature of inlet cold stream. Attempts to reduce the disadvantageous temperature polarization effect were made inserting the 3D turbulence promoters to promote both the mass and heat transfer characteristics in improving pure water productivity.

Towards this goal, we have performed a thorough literature search and collected published data on organ weights and organ blood flow rates for 0-20-year-old male and female human subjects. The data were used to develop continuous relationships between physiological parameters and age, using a single form of mathematical equation.

Solar-driven membrane distillation (SDMD) for desalination is a feasible method to solve water and energy resource issues. The design and operation of SDMD is different from continuous and steady state processes, such as common chemical plants, due to the intermittent and unpredictive characteristics of solar radiation. Employing the steady state and dynamic simulation models developed on the platform of Aspen Custom Modeler, this paper presents a two-stage design approach for the SDMD systems using different types of membrane distillation configurations, including AGMD (air gap MD), DCMD (direct contract MD) and VMD (vacuum MD).

The absence of a high-performance p-channel oxide thin-film transistor (TFT) is the major challenge faced in the current oxide semiconductor device technology. Simple solution-based back-channel subgap defect termination using sulfur was developed for p-channel cuprous oxide (CuO)-TFTs. We investigated the origin of poor device characteristics in conventional CuO-TFTs and clarified that it was mainly because of a back-channel donor-like defect of ∼2.

However, molecular phylogenetic analyses showed that Chiritopsis is polyphyletic and its species delimitation has been problematic. To understand how many times Chiritopsis-like species have evolved from within the recircumscribed Primulina and to further clarify their species identification, we sampled all but two recently described species of Chiritopsis-like Primulina and reconstructed their phylogenetic relationship based on DNA sequences of nuclear ITS and chloroplast trnL-F and trnH-psbA.

Our recent studies have found that the transcription factor Bhlhe40 negatively regulates PGC-1α gene expression and its coactivational activity, therefore, this factor should have profound influence on the biogenesis and metabolic activity of mitochondria and peroxisomes. Here we found that both the number and activity of peroxisomes were increased upon knockdown of Bhlhe40 expression but were repressed by its over-expression.

In this paper, a joint multiple-image encryption and multiplexing system, which utilizes both the nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) scheme and digital holography, is proposed. A number of images are transformed into noise-like digital holograms, which are then decomposed into a defined number of basis images and a corresponding weighting matrix using the NMF scheme. The determined basis images are similar to the digital holograms and appear as noise-like patterns, which are then stored as encrypted data and serve as the lock in an encryption system.
