This retrospective study was conducted at a medical center in southern Taiwan to assess the accuracy of the Hendrich II Fall Risk Model (HIIFRM) in predicting falls. Sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and optimal cutoff points were analyzed using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. Data analysis was conducted using information from the electronic medical record and patient safety reporting systems, capturing 303 fall events and 47,146 non-fall events.

The use of mobile health services increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, and their role in improving mental health is becoming clearer.
Objective: This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of a smartphone app (MedAdhere) on medication adherence and accuracy among patients with schizophrenia and to measure their psychiatric symptoms and cognitive functions.
Background: The supportive care needs trajectories in patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) during chemotherapy and the related factors have yet to be explored or addressed in the literature.
Purpose: This study was designed to investigate supportive care needs trajectories in patients with advanced NSCLC receiving chemotherapy and the association between the sociodemographic and disease characteristics of these patients over the four cycles of chemotherapy.
Methods: For this longitudinal study, 95 patients with advanced NSCLC were recruited using convenience sampling at a medical center in Taiwan.
Background: Patients with cancer who are not well informed often experience dissatisfaction with care, difficulty coping with their disease, and feelings of helplessness.
Purpose: This study was designed to investigate the information needs of women with breast cancer undergoing treatment in Vietnam and the determinants of these needs.
Methods: One hundred thirty women undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer in the National Cancer Hospital in Vietnam enrolled as volunteers in this cross-sectional descriptive correlational study.
Background: Research related to newly diagnosed lung cancer patients' emotional regulation strategies and how these strategies influence their emotional distress is scarce.
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between cancer fear, emotion regulation, and emotional distress in patients with newly diagnosed lung cancer.
Method: A cross-sectional, correlation research design was conducted, using self-report questionnaires: the Cancer Fear Scale, the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale.
Breast cancer and its treatment are particularly distressing for patients because of their potential impacts on body image. The most difficult phase of cancer treatment is usually the first year after a diagnosis. Cancer patients with strong resilience have the positive attitude, internal strength and external resources needed to cope with the disease and its treatment.

Nurses are more likely to experience depression, anxiety, decreased job satisfaction, and reduced organizational loyalty as a result of the stressful work environment and heavy workload. A total of 248 psychiatric ward (PW) nurses participated in this cross-sectional survey study.

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a common chronic disease. As this disease is extremely complex, multidisciplinary care (MDC) is needed to provide complete and continuous care.
Aim: A systematic literature review was performed to examine the constituents of MDC, the content of MDC interventions, and the health outcomes in CKD patients receiving MDC.
This study aimed to investigate the perceived work stress and its influencing factors among hospital staff during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Taiwan. A web-based survey was conducted at one medical center and two regional hospitals in southern Taiwan, targeting physicians, nurses, medical examiners, and administrators. : Few studies in Asian countries have explored the emotional entanglements and conflicts that surrogates often experience during the medical decision-making process. This study was to explore decision-making processes in surrogates of cancer patients in a Taiwan intensive care unit (ICU). This qualitative study surveyed a purposive sample of surrogates ( = 8; average age, 48 years) of cancer patients in the ICU of a medical center in Taiwan.

We compared the effectiveness of biofeedback training (BT) and smartphone-delivered BT (SDBT) interventions on occupational stress, depressive symptoms, resilience, heart rate variability, and respiration rate in a sample of abused PW nurses. This was a quasi-experimental study.

This study's objective was to examine the gender difference of baseline and post-intervention skin conductance response (SCR) among smartphone users and explore the relationships among problematic smartphone use level, anxiety level, and SCR changes by evaluating SCR, the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale score, and the Chinese version of the Smartphone Addiction Inventory (SPAI) score in a one-group baseline and post-test design. Sixty participants were recruited from two communities, and data were collected from April to June 2017.

This study compared emotional distress and QOL during FOLFOX in CRC patients with and without CIPN symptoms. This cross-sectional, descriptive, and comparative study recruited 68 CRC patients receiving FOLFOX at a local teaching hospital and at a medical center in southern Taiwan.

A prospective, observational, repeated measures study was performed to explore the current status and changes in pain and activities of daily living (ADL) in 58 OA elderly patients undergoing unilateral TKR. The Wong⁻Baker Faces Pain Rating Scale (WBS) for pain and the self-reported Barthel Index for ADL were measured on the day before surgery, 48 hours after surgery, and the day before discharge.

One reason for this low utilization rate is that nurses do not provide COPD patients with enough health education to increase the patient's motivation for PR participation. This study examined knowledge, attitudes, and behavioral intention toward PR promotion.
