Traumatic Renal Artery Occlusion in Children: A Case Report.

Blunt trauma is a major cause of death in children, with renal arterial injuries occurring in less than 1% of cases. Traumatic renal artery occlusion (RAO) in children is rare and results in the loss of ipsilateral renal perfusion. Clinical signs are often nonspecific, and there is a lack of information on the exact incidence and management outcomes of these rare cases in children.

Duodenal Trauma in Children: What is the Status of Non-Operative Conservative Treatment?

Conservative treatment of duodenal trauma in children has long been the first line of treatment for duodenal wall hematomas. However, it has rarely been described in duodenal perforations. The authors report the case of a male neonate presenting with a heterogeneous cystic mass in the right renal area with no identifiable renal unit. The diagnosis of right perirenal extracapsular uro-haematoma secondary to posterior urethral valve was proposed on the basis of the antenatal clinical history. The late discovery at 39 weeks of amenorrhoea (pregnancy not followed) of a foetus with trabeculated bladder associated with left ureteropelvic dilatation, and a cystic mass occupying the right lumbar fossa was highly suggestive of right urinoma secondary an infravesical obstacle.
