Background: The effects of restrictive versus liberal transfusion strategies in critically ill patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and anemia, particularly in adult patients with moderate to severe TBI, remain inconclusive. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis aim to evaluate the comparative impact of restrictive and liberal red blood cell transfusion strategies among critically ill adult patients with moderate to severe TBI.

Methods: We conducted a search of PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials from their inception through October 20, 2024, to identify randomized controlled trials that compared restrictive (transfusions at a hemoglobin level of ≤ 7 g/dL) and liberal (transfusions at a hemoglobin level of ≤ 9-10 g/dL) transfusion strategies in adult patients with TBI.

In this work, lactoferrin (LF)-chitosan (CS) composite hydrogels with good loading capacity of thermosensitive bioactive substances were successfully obtained by microbial transglutaminase (MTG)-induced cross-linking. We evaluated the rheological, textural, and microstructural characteristics of the composite hydrogels under different conditions. The results demonstrated that the concentrations of LF and CS as well as the amount of MTG could regulate the textural properties, rheological properties, and water holding capability.

Scleroglucan is obtained from and is widely used in many fields. In this study, transcriptomics combined with metabolomics were used to study the global metabolites and gene changes. The results of the joint analysis showed that the DEGs (differentially expressed genes) and DEMs (differentially expressed metabolites) of SEPS_48 (fermented with sucrose as a carbon source for 48 h) and GEPS_48 (fermented with glucose as a carbon source for 48 h) comparison groups were mainly related to cell metabolism, focusing on carbohydrate metabolism, amino acid metabolism, and amino sugar and nucleoside sugar metabolism.

China leads the world in the development and rollout of 5G network, yet less research has been done on the drivers of Chinese people's adoption of 5G network, especially the specific role of national sentiments, such as the influence of patriotism on their attitude toward 5G network. The study obtained 804 effective online questionnaires from the respondents of various ages, genders, areas, and educational levels. The results based on the structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis showed that patriotism was an antecedent to Chinese users' cognition of the conditions provided by the government and telecom operators and the extent that users were influenced by media and surrounding people, which in turn increased users' expectations of the performance of 5G network and their confidence in adapting to 5G network, and resulted in an increased willingness to use 5G network.

A prediction model of the welding process of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy was established by using the finite element method, which was used to evaluate the phase composition, residual stress and deformation of the welded joints of Ti-6Al-4V sheets with different processes (including tungsten inert gas welding, TIG, and laser beam welding, LBW). The Ti-6Al-4V structures of TIG welding and LBW are widely used in marine engineering. Lysine crotonylation (Kcr) is a newly identified protein translational modification and is involved in major biological processes including glycolysis, but its role in colorectal cancer (CRC) is unknown.
