Reconstructive meniscectomy appears to be an excellent method for correcting the major dysfunction syndrome of the temporomandibular joint. However, it has very limited indications, and should be reserved for the rare cases of failure of dental articulation re-equilibration. In this framework, it would appear to be preferable to other less physiological surgical procedures.
