Purpose: The management of complicated and irreparable urethral strictures can be challenging, and continent urinary diversion has emerged as a viable option. This study aims to investigate the complications associated with continent urinary diversion using the Mitrofanoff principle in patients with complex urethral strictures that cannot be corrected through urethroplasty surgery.

Materials And Methods: A total of 22 patients were included in this study, who underwent continent urinary diversion surgery using the Mitrofanoff technique.

The application of Botulinum toxin (Masport) in urology has a long history. We aimed to assess the effect of local Masport on improvement in patients with urethral stricture by reducing the recurrence of urethral stricture. This pilot study conducted was a double-blind randomized clinical trial with code IRCT20191222045852N1 on patients suffering from urethral stricture.

In big and industrial cities of developing countries, illness and mortality from long-term exposure to air pollutants have become a serious issue. This research was carried out in 2019-2020 to estimate the health impacts of PM, NO and O pollutants by using AirQ and R statistical programming software in Arak, Isfahan, Tabriz, Shiraz, Karaj, and Mashhad. Mortality statistics, number of people in required age groups, and amount of pollutants were gathered respectively from different agencies like Statistics and Information Technology of the Ministry of Health, Statistical Center, and Department of Environment and by using Excel, the average 24-hour and 1-hour concentration and maximum 8-hour concentration for PM, NO and O pollutants were gathered.

Article Synopsis
  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) can lead to severe complications, including diabetic nephropathy (DN), which is linked to liver-derived factors known as hepatokines, particularly Angiopoietin-Like Protein 3 (ANGPTL3).
  • In a study involving 60 healthy individuals, 60 T2DM patients, and 61 DN patients, researchers measured serum levels of ANGPTL3, IL-6, and TNF-α, finding significantly higher ANGPTL3 levels in both T2DM and DN patients compared to controls, with DN patients showing the highest levels.
  • The results suggest that ANGPTL3 is associated with renal dysfunction and lipid metabolism, potentially playing a

Background: Recent years have brought notable progress in raising the efficiency of the reprogramming technique so that approaches have evolved from known transgenic factors to only a few miRNAs. Nevertheless, there is a poor understanding of both the key factors and biological networks underlying this reprogramming. The present study aimed to investigate the potential of miR-106b-5p in regulating spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs) to induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-like cells.
