Persistent environmental colored compounds, resistant to biodegradation, accumulate and harm eco-systems. Developing effective methods to break down these pollutants is crucial. This study introduces Ag-MIL-101 (Ag-MIL-101) as a composite and reusable catalyst that efficiently degrades specific colored organic pollutants (COPs) like Methylene blue (MB), 4-Nitrophenol (4-NP), and 4-Nitroaniline (4-NA) using sodium borohydride at room temperature.

Zeolite was used to immobilize the synthesized Ag-NPs (Ag@Z). The modified Zeolite served as a catalyst for the reduction reaction of various organic pollutant dyes (OPDs) including 4-nitrophenol (4-NP), 4-nitroaniline (4-NA), methylene blue (MB), and methyl orange (MO) with sodium borohydride.

The terephthalic acid obtained from the degradation of Waste PET Bottles (WPTs) was combined with copper and zinc salts to synthesize bimetallic metal-organic frameworks (MOF). The effectiveness of a bimetallic Cu-Zn(BDC)-MOF in catalyzing the reduction reaction of organic pollutant dyes (OPDs) was investigated, and the degradation efficiency of individual dyes was optimized, achieving over 95% degradation within 6-12 min under optimal conditions.

August 2021
This study evaluates the effects of probiotics and synbiotics on the performance, immune responses, and intestinal morphology, and the expression of immunity-related genes of broiler chicks challenged with Salmonella typhimurium. Three hundred and sixty broiler chicks were divided into six groups, including broiler chicks challenged and non-challenged with S. typhimurium and fed with probiotic, synbiotic, and basal diet without additive.

The thermal solvent-free and microwave green procedures offer advantages such as shorter reaction times, simple work-up, excellent yield, recovery and reusability of catalyst. It is noteworthy that 1-amidomethyl-2-naphthols can be converted into important biological 'drug like' active 1-aminomethyl-2-naphthols derivatives by amide hydrolysis.
