Optimizing central venous access devices insertion in thrombocytopenic patients: Balancing efficacy and safety.

Introduction: Recently, the rising incidence of trauma, cancer, and critical illnesses has led to a growing necessity for Central Venous Access Devices (CVADs). Inserting CVADs in thrombocytopenic patients is still challenging. This study tries to shed light on the safety and associated risks of CVADs insertion in this high-risk group, with the ultimate goal of informing clinical practice and aiding in decision-making processes.

Comparison of the incidence of contrast-induced nephropathy after primary PCI in patients receiving high-dose rosuvastatin and atorvastatin.

Introduction: Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is associated with increased disability and death. Randomized clinical trial studies have shown that short-term treatment with statins prior to cardiac intervention was capable of reducing the incidence of CIN. Therefore, the aim of this study was to compare the incidence of CIN after primary PCI in patients receiving high-dose rosuvastatin and atorvastatin.

Efficacy of intravenous eptifibatide in primary percutaneous coronary intervention patients.

Early and complete restoration of blood flow in closed coronary arteries is the main goal in treating patients with myocardial infarction. Primary angioplasty is not always successful in establishing myocardial blood flow. Although the strategy of adding eptifibatide leads to better blood flow, its value as part of a routine strategy is questionable.

Angioemboliziation of Internal Pudendal Artery for Treatment of Long Lasting Gross Hematuria After Transurethral Resection of the Prostate.

To present a case of recurrent gross hematuria after transurethral resection of the prostate that was refractory to endoscopic and open hemostatic interventions at the bladder neck and prostatic fossa. After performing angiographic evaluation of the pelvic vessels and finding the pseudoaneurysm, percutaneous embolization of arterial supply of the pseudoaneurysm was done. The location and type of lesion were successfully determined by angiography and controlled by angio-embolization of the internal pudendal artery.

Pseudoaneurysm of the Posterior Tibial Artery following Removal of Tibial Plate- A Rare Case.

Introduction: Pseudoaneurysm is a rare complication reported after any surgery such as ORIF of fracture, plate removal, ankle or knee arthroscopy or arthroplasty. To our knowledge, pseudoaneurysms of the posterior tibial artery after tibial plate removal are a rare phenomenon. We report a case of a 18-year-old male patient who had pseudoaneurysm of posterior tibial artery following plate removal.
