Value of stent boost imaging in decision making after coronary stenting.

Background: Several studies reported the comparability of digital stent enhancement techniques (including stent boost imaging) in detecting suboptimal results of coronary stenting with Intra Vascular Ultrasound and optical coherence tomography.

Aims: to assess results of stent deployment and determine the incidence of suboptimal results requiring changing final decision using stent boost imaging.

Methods: This cross-sectional study included 120 patients eligible for PCI were recruited during a period of one year (January 2021 to 2022) using DES.

Effect of time delay of PDA closure on the aortic stiffness index and its relationship with cardiac function.

Background: Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) causes volume overload of the left side of the heart. Stiffening in the larger central arterial system, such as the aortic tree, significantly contributes to cardiovascular diseases in older individuals and is positively associated with systolic hypertension and coronary artery disease. In this study, we evaluated the effect of time delay of PDA closure on aortic stiffness and its relationship with cardiac function before and after transcatheter closure of the PDA.

Temporal trends and inequalities in coronary angiography utilization in the management of non-ST-Elevation acute coronary syndromes in the U.S.

Coronary angiography (CA) is the basis of an invasive management strategy in non-ST elevation acute coronary syndromes (NSTEACS). There are limited contemporary data on national temporal trends in utilization of CA in different patient subgroups. We sought to investigate temporal trends, predictors and clinical outcomes associated with the use of CA in the US.

Incidence and Clinical Course of Limb Dysfunction Post Cardiac Catheterization - A Systematic Review.

Background: We systematically reviewed the available literature on limb dysfunction after transradial access (TRA) or transfemoral access (TFA) cardiac catheterization.

Methods and results: MEDLINE and EMBASE were searched for studies evaluating any transradial or transfemoral procedures and limb function outcomes. Data were extracted and results were narratively synthesized with similar treatment arms.

Clinical significance of Angiopoietin-1 in Behcet's disease patients with vascular involvement.
