Objective: To systematically review contemporary prediction models for hospital mortality developed or validated in general medical patients.
Methods: We screened articles in five databases, from January 1, 2010, through April 7, 2022, and the bibliography of articles selected for final inclusion. We assessed the quality for risk of bias and applicability using the Prediction Model Risk of Bias Assessment Tool (PROBAST) and extracted data using the Critical Appraisal and Data Extraction for Systematic Reviews of Prediction Modelling Studies (CHARMS) checklist.
Background: To support the development of clinical practice guidelines on the management of patients with genetic aortopathies and arteriopathies, a writing committee from the Society for Vascular Surgery has commissioned this systematic review.
Methods: We conducted a systematic review and searched multiple databases for studies addressing six questions identified by the Society for Vascular Surgery guideline committee about evaluating and managing patients with genetic aortopathies and arteriopathies. Studies were selected and appraised by pairs of independent reviewers.
Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a well-known complication following a transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and is associated with higher morbidity and mortality.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to perform a contemporary meta-analysis to provide an updated assessment of clinically useful predictors of PPM implantation post-TAVR.
Methods: Medline and EMBASE searches were performed to include all studies reporting PPM post-TAVR between 2015 and 2020.
Background: The aim of this study was to assess the safety, efficacy, and predictors of outcomes for atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation in patients with a history of breast cancer.
Methods: Consecutive patients with a history of breast cancer undergoing AF ablation from January 2010 to December 2021 were propensity matched in a 1:1 ratio to patients without a history of any cancer. The primary outcome was procedural efficacy, defined by clinical AF recurrence and repeat catheter ablation.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of AF ablation in patients with RA.
Methods: All patients with RA undergoing AF ablation at our institution from 2010 to 2021 were propensity matched to patients without RA using 9 baseline characteristics.
Aims: To examine 1) the major drivers of index hospitalization and 3-year post-acute follow-up care, 2) cost for rehabilitation and homecare, and 3) indirect cost from lost productivity after acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH).
Methods: Retrospective study of adults hospitalized with AIS (n = 811) and ICH (N = 145) between 2003 and 2014. Direct costs standardized to Medicare reimbursement rates were captured for hospitalization and 3-year follow-up or death.
Objective: To examine the effect of HLP, defined as having a pre-existing or a new in-hospital diagnosis based on low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) level ≥100 mg/dL during index hospitalisation or within the preceding 6 months, on all-cause mortality after hospitalisation for acute myocardial infarction (AMI) or acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) and to determine whether HLP modifies mortality associations of other competing comorbidities.
