Studies in humans and rodents show exercise in pregnancy can modulate maternal blood pressure, vascular volume, and placental efficiency, but whether exercise affects early uteroplacental vascular adaptations is unknown. To investigate this, CBA/J female mice mated with BALB/c males to generate healthy uncomplicated pregnancies (BALB/c-mated) or mated with DBA/2J males to generate abortion-prone pregnancies (DBA/2J-mated), were subjected to treadmill exercise (5 days/week, 10 m/min, 30 min/day for 6 weeks before and throughout pregnancy), or remained sedentary. In uncomplicated pregnancies, exercise caused symmetric fetal growth restriction in fetuses evidenced by reductions in fetal weight, crown-to-rump length, abdominal girth and biparietal diameter.

Derived from a variety of plant species these naturally occurring biosurfactants have wider potential for inclusion in many low carbon and or sustainably sourced products. Although their adsorption at the air-solution and liquid-liquid interfaces has been extensively studied, the nature of their adsorption at solid surfaces is much less clear.

However, for this approach to be adopted as an antiviral, it must be optimized until levels of efficacy rival or exceed the performance of conventional approaches. To take steps toward this goal, we evaluated the influenza viral RNA degradation patterns resulting from the binding and enzymatic activity of mRNA-encoded LbuCas13a and two crRNAs from a prior study, targeting PB2 genomic and messenger RNA.

Felids are its only definitive hosts, and a wide range of animals, including humans, serve as intermediate hosts. When the transmissible bradyzoite stage is orally ingested by felids, they transform into merozoites that expand asexually, ultimately generating millions of gametes for the parasite sexual cycle.

A study in the Vitamin D in Pregnancy (VIP) cohort reported sexually dimorphic effects of maternal 25-hydroxyvitamin-D (25(OH)D) and offspring fracture profiles at 10 years of age. We, therefore, aimed to determine associations between maternal 25(OH)D status and offspring fracture risk at 16 years of age in this cohort.

The childbirth continuum is traditionally considered a feminine event, however, commensurate with the changing paradigm of gender equity in family healthcare worldwide, the role of fathers is in transformation. The aim of the study is to explore father's perceptions and experiences of healthcare engagement during pregnancy and early infant care.

H5N1 is a highly infectious bird virus infecting primarily poultry, but unlike other AIs, H5N1 also infects mammals and transmits to humans with a case fatality rate above 40%.

Yet the transition to fatherhood presents an opportunity for men to improve their health and health behaviours. Health literacy refers to individuals' competence in accessing and applying health information.

Escin is currently used as an anti-inflammatory, and has potential applications in the treatment of arthritis and cancer. Engineered yeast would enable production of specific bioactive components of escin at industrial scale, however many saponins have been shown to be toxic to yeast.

Methods: Participants were recruited from two primary care clinics differing in socioeconomic scope and through non-clinical recruitment via the town's largest football club.
Despite the challenges associated with virtually mediated communication, remote collaboration is a defining characteristic of online multiplayer gaming communities. Inspired by the teamwork exhibited by players in first-person shooter games, this study investigated the verbal and behavioral coordination of four-player teams playing a cooperative online video game. The game, , involved teams consisting of three and one tasked to locate, corral, and contain evasive robot agents scattered across a large desert environment.

In collaborative search tasks, this necessitates the formation of effective division of labor strategies to minimize redundancies in search. For such strategies to be developed, team members need to perceive the task's relevant components and how they evolve over time, as well as an understanding of what others will do so that they can structure their own behavior to contribute to the team's goal.

Background: Individuals differ in their approach when learning a new task often resulting in performance disparity. During training some individuals learn the structure and dynamics of the task and develop a systematic approach, whereas others may achieve the same result albeit with increased perceived workload, or indeed some may fail to achieve superior performance levels.
Unlabelled: In the context of an ageing population, the burden of disease and medicine use is also expected to increase. As such, medicine safety and preventing avoidable medicine-related harm are major public health concerns, requiring further research. Potentially suboptimal medicine regimens is an umbrella term that captures a range of indicators that may increase the risk of medicine-related harm, including polypharmacy, underprescribing and high-risk prescribing, such as prescribing potentially inappropriate medicines.

Hypothesis: Saponins are a class of plant derived surfactants which are widely used in food related foams and emulsions, aerated drinks, and in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. As a potential biosourced and renewable ingredient in a wider range of surfactant based formulations their potential is intimately associated with their mixing with synthetic surfactants. As such the nature of the mixed saponin-surfactant self-assembly is an important characteristic to investigate and understand.

Objective: This study sought to explore what people who sustain work-related injuries may seek from online communities. The study highlights potential opportunities for improved engagement with insurance case management practice.
Background: Caregivers often use the internet to access information related to stroke care to improve preparedness, thereby reducing uncertainty and enhancing the quality of care.
Method: Social media communities used by caregivers of people affected by stroke were identified using popular keywords searched for using Google. Communities were filtered based on their ability to provide support to caregivers.

In this study, maternal 25(OH)D at recruitment was associated with a lower fracture risk in boys and an increased fracture risk in girls at 28-32 weeks gestation.

Unlabelled: There is an increased interest in the use of natural surfactant as replacements for synthetic surfactants due to their biosustainable and biocompatible properties. A category of natural surfactants which are attracting much current interest is the triterpenoid saponins; surface active components found extensively in a wide range of plant species. A wide range of different saponin structures exist, depending upon the plant species they are extracted from; but regardless of the variation in structural details they are all highly surface active glycosides.

It is plausible that shared genetics might confound associations between maternal vitamin D in pregnancy and offspring bone measures.
