Herein, a turn "Off/On" fluorescence probe based on ZnO quantum dots (ZnO-QDs) has been proposed and successfully utilized for the determination of Ara-C (cytarabine) using ceric ions (Ce) as quencher and ethylenediamine (ED) as a linker. The probe is based initially on the quenching effect of Ce ions on the strong native fluorescence of ZnO-QDs forming the Turn Off system (Ce@ZnO-QDs) that believed to occur due to the aggregation-induced quenching (AIQ) mechanism. The second step is the addition of Ara-C in the presence of ethylenediamine (ED) that encourages the formation of Ara-C/ED/Ce as well as the release of the free ZnO-QDs, leading to the recovery of the fluorescence intensity.

The silver substrate was synthesized in situ by laser-induced photochemical procedure. By focusing the laser on a flow cell at 1 ml/min of continuous flow of 0.

Forced acidic and basic degradation processes were applied at different time intervals. The formed degradation products were elucidated and quantified using surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA comparative evaluation of antimicrobial effect of synthesized silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) of different shapes using different methods was performed. Spherical, triangular and hexagonal AgNPs with an average size of 40 nm were chemically prepared and characterized by transmission electron microscope (TEM) and UV-visible spectroscopy. The antimicrobial effect of these different AgNPs against the gram negative bacterium Escherichia coli (E.

A highly sensitive, selective and reproducible chromatographic method is described for determination of low-molecular mass unsaturated aliphatic aldehydes in human serum. The method combines fluorescent labeling using 4-(N,N-Dimethylaminosulfonyl)-7-hydrazino-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole with peroxyoxalate chemiluminescence. The derivatives were separated on a reversed-phase column C8 isocratically using a mixture of acetonitrile and 90mM imidazole-HNO3 buffer (pH 6.

The method uses a confocal Raman microscope to prepare SERS active silver spots on the window of a flow cell by photo-reduction of silver nitrate in the presence of citrate. Placement of the flow cell on an automated x and y stages of the Raman microscope allows to prepare a fresh spot for every new measurement.

The separation of MT was achieved within 12 min without interference of DP and GAL on the chromatogram. MT levels in rat plasma with a single administration of MT (2.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTwo simple and sensitive spectrofluorimetric methods were developed for determination of three water-soluble vitamins (B1, B2, and B6) in mixtures in the presence of cyanocobalamin. The first one was for thiamine determination, which depends on the oxidation of thiamine HCl to thiochrome by iodine in an alkaline medium. The method was applied accurately to determine thiamine in binary, ternary, and quaternary mixtures with pyridoxine HCl, riboflavin, and cyanocobalamin without interference.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA sensitive high-performance liquid chromatographic method with fluorescence detection was developed to determine memantine (MT) in rat plasma. The method consists of pre-column labeling of MT with 4-(4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl)benzoyl chloride (DIB-Cl) and a clean-up step with solid-phase extraction. A good separation of DIB-MT was achieved within 12 min on an octadecylsilica (ODS) column (150 × 4.

The first method is divided into first derivative and first derivative of ratio spectra methods, and the second into classical least squares and principal components regression methods. Both methods are based on spectrophotometric measurements of the studied vitamins in 0.
