Rationale: We report the efficacy of combination prednisolone and intravenous (IV) rituximab as an immunosuppressive regimen for a young male presenting with extensive venous thromboembolism including a submassive pulmonary embolism secondary to life-threatening nephrotic syndrome from very high risk anti-phospholipase-A2 receptor (PLA2R) positive membranous nephropathy. Initial treatment was with mechanical thrombectomy and anticoagulation. Thereafter, oral prednisolone was initiated to induce remission, during a period of uninterrupted anticoagulation.

Methods: We conducted a single-center randomized controlled trial (RCT) on maintenance HD patients to examine if vitamin K2 supplementation can reduce progression of coronary artery calcification (CAC) over an 18-month study period. Patients were randomized to vitamin K2 group receiving menaquinone-7360 μg 3 times/wk or control group.
Introduction: The profile of patients referred from primary to tertiary nephrology care is unclear. Ethnic Malay patients have the highest incidence and prevalence of kidney failure in Singapore. We hypothesised that there is a Malay predominance among patients referred to nephrology due to a higher burden of metabolic disease in this ethnic group.

Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) develops in 4% of hospitalized patients and is a marker of clinical deterioration and nephrotoxicity. AKI onset is highly variable in hospitals, which makes it difficult to time biomarker assessment in all patients for preemptive care.
Objective: The study sought to apply machine learning techniques to electronic health records and predict hospital-acquired AKI by a 48-hour lead time, with the aim to create an AKI surveillance algorithm that is deployable in real time.

Two patients had chronic kidney disease stage 5, while the rest had acute kidney injury. The patients had improvement in all metabolic parameters following CKRT commencement, except for a worsening high anion gap metabolic acidosis, in spite of improvement in serum lactate.

Methods: A retrospective observational study was conducted of asymptomatic KTRs who underwent post-transplant MPI screening for MI, as defined by moderate to severe myocardial perfusion defects, post-stress myocardial stunning or balanced ischemia. A composite outcome of all-cause mortality, graft loss, and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) was examined over minimum 5 years.
With the exponential surge in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) worldwide, the resources needed to provide continuous kidney replacement therapy (CKRT) for patients with acute kidney injury or kidney failure may be threatened. This article summarizes subsisting strategies that can be implemented immediately. Pre-emptive weekly multicenter projections of CKRT demand based on evolving COVID-19 epidemiology and routine workload should be made.

Background: Patients with acute kidney injury needing prolonged renal replacement therapy (AKI-RRT) may benefit from a structured care process in form of an AKI transitional care program (ATCP), to facilitate RRT weaning and recovery.
Methods: We examined outcomes following ATCP implementation in adults with AKI-RRT from a tertiary institution (versus pre-ATCP controls), including mortality, cumulative hospital days, and renal function over one year; RRT and haemodialysis catheter days in initial 90 days.
Results: We studied 89 patients with age 62 ( ± 15) years.

Results: We studied 3333 patients with AKI, of 77,873 unique patient admissions, giving an AKI incidence of 4%.
