Myeloid chimerism better reflects donor stem cell engraftment than whole-blood chimerism in assessing graft function following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HCT). We describe our experience with 130 patients aged younger than 18 years, treated with allogeneic HCT using bone marrow or PBSC from HLA-matched donors for non-malignant diseases, whose pre-transplant conditioning therapy included alemtuzumab and who were monitored with lineage-specific chimerism after transplant. Objective: To examine whether Medicaid managed care plan (MCP) utilization management policies for buprenorphine-naloxone and injectable naltrexone are related to key state Medicaid program policy decisions.

Data Sources And Study Setting: We abstracted data on state Medicaid regulatory and policy information from publicly available sources and publicly available insurance benefit documentation from all 241 Medicaid MCPs operating in 2021.

Study Design: In this cross-sectional study, we used bivariate and multivariate analyses to examine whether Medicaid MCP prior authorization and quantity limits on receipt of buprenorphine and injectable naltrexone were associated with key state Medicaid choices to leverage federal funds to expand coverage and eligibility (Medicaid expansion, 1115 waivers) and to regulate Medicaid MCPs (uniform preferred drug lists, medical loss ratio remittance).

Metastatic ovarian cancer (MOC) is highly deadly, due in part to the limited efficacy of standard-of-care chemotherapies to metastatic tumors and non-adherent cancer cells. Here, we demonstrated the effectiveness of a combination therapy of GRP78-targeted (TNP) and non-targeted (NP) nanoparticles to deliver a novel DM1-prodrug to MOC in a syngeneic mouse model. Cell surface-GRP78 is overexpressed in MOC, making GRP78 an optimal target for selective delivery of nanoparticles to MOC.

We conducted retrospective public health surveillance using data from 2006 to 2016 in seven integrated delivery systems from FDA's Sentinel System. We identified pediatric hypertensive patients by clinical and claims-based definitions and compared demographics, baseline profiles and follow-up time profiles. Among 3,757,803 pediatric patients aged 3 to 17 years, we identified 781,722 children and 551,246 teens with at least three blood pressure measures over 36-months.

Enterocolitis is common after cord blood transplantation (CBT) and a specific, non-graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) entity with specific histopathologic features ("cord colitis") has been described in some cases in selected series. Immune suppression is not without risk, and we have used it only when biopsy features are consistent with classical GVHD. In the absence of biopsy features of classical GVHD, our management of intestinal failure has been supportive, and we have withdrawn immune suppression to allow immune reconstitution and better prevent relapse of malignant disease and reduce infectious complications.

Introduction: Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) has shown promise in the field of intra-operative imaging and tissue differentiation as it carries the capability to provide real-time information invisible to the naked eye whilst remaining label free. Previous iterations of intra-operative HSI systems have shown limitations, either due to carrying a large footprint limiting ease of use within the confines of a neurosurgical theater environment, having a slow image acquisition time, or by compromising spatial/spectral resolution in favor of improvements to the surgical workflow. Lightfield hyperspectral imaging is a novel technique that has the potential to facilitate video rate image acquisition whilst maintaining a high spectral resolution.

The diffusible signal factor family (DSF) of molecules play an important role in regulating intercellular communication, or quorum sensing, in several disease-causing bacteria. These messenger molecules, which are comprised of cis-unsaturated fatty acids, are involved in the regulation of biofilm formation, antibiotic tolerance, virulence and the control of bacterial resistance. Importance: Opioids administered to treat postsurgical pain are a major contributor to the opioid crisis, leading to chronic use in a considerable proportion of patients.
