Unlabelled: The relationship between fungal species and their resistance patterns in vineyard soils has important implications for agriculture and medicine. This study explored the prevalence of section species and their resistance to azole compounds in Romanian vineyard soils.
Methods: A total of 265 soil samples from various Romanian vineyards were screened for fungi resistant to azoles.
Sleep deprivation is highly prevalent in the modern world, possibly reaching epidemic proportions. While multiple theories regarding the roles of sleep exist (inactivity, energy conservation, restoration, brain plasticity and antioxidant), multiple unknowns still remain regarding the proposed antioxidant roles of sleep. The existing experimental evidence is often contradicting, with studies pointing both toward and against the presence of oxidative stress after sleep deprivation.

Three-dimensional printing is now currently used in many dental fields, such as restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, implantology, and orthodontics. This study aimed to assess the mechanical properties of 3D-printed materials and compare them with the conventional polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA).

It is a ubiquitous fungus and a well-known plant pathogen. Cutaneous infections with most often occur in the extremities of patients who perform conventional agriculture, thus being exposed to occupational hazards leading to the disruption of the skin barrier.

Scanning electron microscopy analysis of the samples before and after the mechanical test was conducted. The compression behavior, flexural properties, tensile strength, and shape of the samples were all investigated and compared between the variants of PMMA.

Ten CLT-MVG formulations were prepared, consisting of mixtures of acid polyacrylic (Carbopol 940) and polyethene oxides, Sentry Polyox WSRN 1105 or 750, according to an experimental D-optimal design, and CLT was suspended at a ratio of 1%. The prepared CLT-MVG formulations were studied in vitro, and the formulation containing Carbopol 940 0.

Chords and islands of pinealocytes constitute the secretory parenchyma, while glial tissue and calcifications represent degenerative changes. This study examined human postmortem pineal glands to microscopically assess morphological changes possibly associated with clinical data, by using digital techniques.

The main requirements were the freehand architecture of the scanner and high accuracy of the reconstructions. A quantitative evaluation of a freehand 3D ultrasound scanner prototype was performed, comparing the ultrasonographic reconstructions with the CAD (computer-aided design) model of the scanned object, to determine the accuracy of the result.

Materials And Methods: An experimental non-inferiority study has been performed on 72 pineal glands harvested from post-mortem examinations.
Purpose: To assess the results of partial monovision (PMV) in comparison to a bilateral monofocal implantation (MMV).
Methods: The PMV group was treated bilaterally with a monofocal intraocular lens (IOL) implantation, followed 3 months later by the implantation of a multifocal AddOn® lens (+ 3.00 D) into the non-dominant eye.
Dyschromic lesions (DLs) of tooth enamel are common disorders, with multiple etiologies and various clinical forms, that raise public health concerns. This study aimed to determine the factors that influence the perception of DLs and to assess the perceived need for dental treatment in various clinical cases. A paper-based questionnaire with attached images of frontal teeth exhibiting different DLs was distributed to patients, dental students, and dentists.

The aim of our study was to determine whether there is a significant correlation between the ultrasound (US) and histological measurements of basal cell carcinoma (BCC) tumor depth.
Materials And Methods: The present study retrospectively analyzed clinical, dermoscopy, HFUS and histological examinations of 90 patients (52 men and 38 women) with histologically confirmed BCC, with focus on tumor depth index (DI).
Cleft lip and palate is the most frequent birth anomaly, with increasing reported rates of complications, such as palate fistulae. Current studies concerning the occurrence rate of cleft lip and palate (CLP) report 2 to 10 cases in 10,000 births. The purpose of this study was to investigate the existence of factors that could predict the occurrence of fistulae after cleft lip and palate surgery.

This study aimed to determine the prevalence of extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL), AmpC, and carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales isolates from retailed raw vegetables and to determine if household washing is an effective method of lowering bacterial load; (2) Methods: Seasonal vegetables ( = 165) were acquired from supermarkets ( = 2) and farmer markets ( = 2) in Romania. Following sample processing and isolation, identification of Enterobacterales was performed by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF).

While in recent years, G. duodenalis genotype distribution patterns in humans have been intensely studied, there is still very little information available on the diversity of Giardia genotypes and sub-assemblages infecting people in Romania.

Materials And Methods: A sample of 160 patients from Cluj-Napoca, Romania, answered a questionnaire regarding the self-perception of their dental appearance and of potential localized dental discolorations. The same questions were answered by their dentist, without knowing their answers, after clinical examination of each patient.
Background And Aims: To verify the color match of metal-ceramic and full ceramic crowns, using instrumental methods.
Methods: A number of 153 teeth (anterior and posterior teeth), in 62 patients, were restored with metal ceramic (MC, n=119), pressed-ceramic (PC, n=28), and zirconia-ceramic (ZC, n=6) full coverage crowns. The shade of a reference natural tooth was recorded instrumentally with a dental spectrophotometer (Vitaeasyshade Advance 4.
Background: There is limited data regarding postoperative complications after microtia surgery or tympanoplasty; however, complication rates after pinna reconstruction following tumor resection and comorbidities associated with suboptimal outcomes have not been investigated so far.
Objective: To examine the incidence of postoperative complications after auricular reconstruction surgery following tumor resection and determine the association between postoperative complications and defect size, patients' comorbidities, and reconstruction type.
Methods And Materials: In a retrospective case series ( = 146, January 2014 to October 2018), we examined the surgical outcome and amount of postoperative complications following auricular surgery as well as the association with different comorbidities.
Health systems all over the world are confronted with an alarming rise of cases in which individuals hesitate, delay, and even refuse vaccination, despite availability of quality vaccine services. In order to mitigate and combat this phenomenon, which are now defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as vaccine hesitancy (VH), we must first understand the factors that lead to its occurrence in an era characterized by wide access to safe and effective vaccines. To achieve this, we conducted field testing of the Vaccine Hesitancy Scale (VHS), as it was developed by the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts Working Group (SAGE WG), in Cluj-Napoca city, Cluj County, Romania.

Materials And Methods: In a group of 218 patients, with the age range from 17 to 70, the middle third of the buccal surface of 359 devitalized teeth was measured using a clinical spectrophotometer (Vita Easyshade Advance). Lightness (L), chromatic parameters (a, b), chroma (C), hue angle (h) and the closest Vita shade in Classical and 3D Master codifications were recorded.
