Regional patterns and climatic predictors of viruses in honey bee (Apis mellifera) colonies over time.

Honey bee viruses are serious pathogens that can cause poor colony health and productivity. We analyzed a multi-year longitudinal dataset of abundances of nine honey bee viruses (deformed wing virus A, deformed wing virus B, black queen cell virus, sacbrood virus, Lake Sinai virus, Kashmir bee virus, acute bee paralysis virus, chronic bee paralysis virus, and Israeli acute paralysis virus) in colonies located across Canada to describe broad trends in virus intensity and occurrence among regions and years. We also tested climatic variables (temperature, wind speed, and precipitation) as predictors in an effort to understand possible drivers underlying seasonal patterns in viral prevalence.

Collectively, these efforts can be used to promote child and adolescent mental health, well-being, and academic success. The current study reports on the feasibility, initial impacts of, and recommendations from a national, multi-level learning collaborative conducted by the National Center for School Mental Health, University of Maryland School of Medicine and administered throughout the United States.

Harmonizing data across the accelerating colorectal cancer screening and follow-up through implementation science (ACCSIS) program to enhance data quality and promote data sharing.

Background: The purpose of the Accelerating Colorectal Cancer Screening and Follow-up through Implementation Science (ACCSIS) Program, a Cancer Moonshot℠ Initiative, is to support research to build the evidence base on multilevel interventions that increase rates of colorectal cancer screening, follow-up, and referral to care to address disparities in colorectal cancer screening. The National Cancer Institute funded eight Research Projects to implement multilevel interventions to improve colorectal cancer screening among communities who traditionally have been medically underserved. We used liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry to measure honeybee () queen retinue pheromone (QRP) in relation to age, laying status, and acceptance using a protocol that enables concurrent metabolomic and lipidomic analyses. Older queens produced higher levels of the QRP components 9-R-hydroxydec-2(E)-enoic acid (9(R)-HDA), linolenic acid (LEA), and 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenylethanol (HVA) compared to younger queens, with HVA also correlating with ovary mass.

To advance health equity, schools benefit from a culturally responsive, antiracist, and equitable (CARE) framework to address the youth mental health crisis. This article describes how to integrate CARE practices within a multi-tiered system of support for mental health in schools.

Retrieval of the Clipped Axillary Lymph Node and Its Impact on Treatment Decisions.

We examined clinically node-positive (cN+) breast cancer patients undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy and clipped lymph node (CLN) localization to determine the rate of CLN = non-sentinel lymph node (SLN), the factors associated with cN+ to pN0 conversion, and the treatment impact. We conducted a single institution review of cN+ patients receiving NAC from 2016 to 2022 with preoperative CLN localization (N = 81). Demographics, hormone receptor (HR) and HER2 status, time to surgery, staging, chemotherapy regimen, localization method, pathology, and adjuvant therapy were analyzed.

We introduce a theoretical framework to describe the pH-sensitive phase behavior of polyzwitterion-polyelectrolyte complex coacervates that reasonably captures the phenomenon from recent experimental observations. In the context of the current youth mental health crisis, it is prudent to reconsider how resources are allocated to facilitate the delivery of effective and comprehensive supports and services to children and adolescents. Schools are the main delivery sites for youth mental health services. Many districts have adopted comprehensive school mental health systems (CSMHS) to provide a multitiered approach comprising mental health promotion, prevention, and intervention to students via partnerships between school and community health and behavioral health providers.

The effects of protein supplementation, fumagillin treatment, and colony management on the productivity and long-term survival of honey bee (Apis mellifera) colonies.

In this study, we intensively measured the longitudinal productivity and survival of 362 commercially managed honey bee colonies in Canada, over a two-year period. A full factorial experimental design was used, whereby two treatments were repeated across apiaries situated in three distinct geographic regions: Northern Alberta, Southern Alberta and Prince Edward Island, each having unique bee management strategies. From Digital Commons to Alma/Primo: enhancing the dissemination of Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) projects.

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project collection is a group of approximately 120 DNP projects archived between 2017 and 2022 in Health Sciences Research Commons (HSRC), the health sciences institutional repository (IR) for the George Washington University. Our project focused on expanding avenues for the dissemination of DNP projects beyond our Digital Commons IR by integrating this content into the library's instances of Ex Libris Alma and Primo VE. By utilizing the Ex Libris Repository type import profile rather than the OAI-PMH feed, we identified enhanced opportunities for content discovery while likewise retaining better control over individual item records.
