Urazolium diacetate catalyzed synthesis of new derivatives of 1,3-thiazolidine-4-ones (azo dispersive dyes family) multicomponent reaction of various aldehydes, thioglycolic acid and 4-aminoazobenzene under solvent-free reaction was reported. This avenue for the synthesis of new derivatives of thiazolidine-4-one has advantages as: short reaction times, high yields, green aspect of chemistry and environmental friendliness, easy workup, solvent-free conditions and convenient operation.

A new Fe3O4/starch-g-poly(ethylene phthalate) hydrogel nanocomposite was prepared using poly(ethylene phthalate) grafted onto starch as a biopolymer. The nanocomposite was characterized by FT-IR, XRD, DLS and SEM. FT-IR spectra proved that polyester had been grafted onto starch in a copolymerization reaction.

In this study, six new compounds containing morpholine and 5(4H)-oxazolone rings were synthesized. Structures of the new compounds using IR, (1)H NMR, mass spectroscopy and elemental analysis were characterized. All new compounds (4a-4f) have a strong inhibitory effect against mushroom tyrosinase.

Six new azo dyes containing of 5(4H)-oxazolone ring were prepared by diazotization of 4-aminohippuric acid and coupling with N,N-dimethylaniline, 1-naphthol and 2-naphthol and condensation with 4-fluoro benzaldehyde or 4-trifluoromethoxy benzaldehyde. The new compounds were fully characterized by spectroscopic techniques. All synthesized compounds exhibited high tyrosinase inhibitory behavior.

We found that dodecatungstophosphoric acid (H(3)PW(12)O40), samarium and ruthenium(III) chloride act as efficient catalysts for synthesis of unsaturated 2-phenyl-5(4H)oxazolone derivatives under solvent-free conditions.
