[Safe Utilization of Paddy Soils Lightly Polluted with Cadmium in Western Chongqing].

The western Chongqing region is the main grain-producing area in Chongqing. This region's soils are characterized by light-to-moderate cadmium (Cd) pollution. Two types of typical paddy soils in this area (acidic and calcareous purple soils) were selected for the development of safe rice production techniques using in situ field remediation experiments.

Combustion behavior, emission characteristics of SO, SO and NO, and in situ control of SO and NO during the co-combustion of anthracite and dried sawdust sludge.

The combustion behaviors of anthracite and dried sawmill sludge (DSS) were studied using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and derivative thermogravimetric analysis (DTG). DSS was found to be a promoter for anthracite combustion, the addition of DSS in anthracite decreased the burnout temperature and time. But DSS caused the rapid releases of SO and NO in the initial combustion stage.

Light/dark cycle of microalgae cells in raceway ponds: Effects of paddlewheel rotational speeds and baffles installation.

The aim of this work was to study the light/dark (L/D) cycle in raceway ponds (RWPs) by the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method via determining the hydrodynamics of culture media and cell trajectories. The effects of paddlewheel rotational speed and flow-deflector baffles installation on the L/D cycle were analyzed. The results indicated that, the L/D cycles of microalgae cells decreased with the increase of the paddlewheel rotational speeds, when the paddlewheel rotational speeds ranged from 5 to 12rpm.
