Background: Liver transplantations (LTs) with extended criteria have produced surgical results comparable to those obtained with traditional standards. However, it is not sufficient to predict hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) recurrence after LT according to morphological criteria alone. The present study aimed to construct a nomogram for predicting HCC recurrence after LT using extended selection criteria.

Evidence of the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index as an independent predictor of arterial stiffness in stage 1 hypertension patients is scarce. This study aimed to explore the association between TyG index and arterial stiffness in this population. A total of 1041 individuals from 32 centers with normal/elevated blood pressure (BP, <130/80 mmHg; 345 men (33%); median age, 37 years) and 585 stage 1 hypertension patients (BP ≥130/80 and <140/90 mmHg; 305 men (52%); median age, 47 years) were prospectively enrolled.

Accurate prediction of recurrence risk is urgently required for tailoring personalized treatment programs for individual HCC patients in advance. In this study, we analyzed a gene expression dataset from an HCC cohort with 247 samples and identified five genes including , , , , and as the variables for the prediction of HCC recurrence, especially the early recurrence.

Methods: GSE34198, GSE97320 and GSE141512 datasets were download for DEG analysis.
Background: miR-29a plays a vital role in AS, but the relationship between the miR-29a-targeted PI3K signaling pathway and AS remains unclear. Therefore, this study was carried out.
Methods: Gene expression profiles from the GEO database containing AS samples were analyzed.
Acute attack of dyspnea may be combined with acute cor pulmonale (ACP). Rapid and accurate identification of the etiology of ACP is the key to its diagnosis and treatment. Echocardiography is a better imaging tool in the assessment of right ventricular function.

Fifty patients with LS diagnosed by pathology in the hospital were selected as the research object, with a total of 96 lesions. Healthy people (50 cases) in the same period were selected as the control group.

Objective: This study aims to explore the feasibility of HeartModel (HM) three-dimensional echocardiography (3DE) to assess left ventricular function and discover suitable border parameter settings.
Methods: A total of 113 patients that underwent echocardiography in our hospital were eligible for inclusion. The HM 3DE (HM method) and conventional 3DE (3D method) were used to analyze echocardiography images.
Background: In the past ten years, liver biopsies have been used as a method to accurately diagnose the stage of fibrosis.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate whether body position and exercise affect the measurement of liver Young's modulus of healthy volunteers by real-time shear wave elastography (RT-SWE).
Methods: RT-SWE was used to measure liver Young's modulus in the supine and left lateral positions of 70 healthy volunteers at rest and measure the liver Young's modulus in the lying position before exercise, and at zero, five, and ten minutes of rest after exercise.
Purpose: Total laparoscopic total gastrectomy (TLTG) has been limited in application because of the difficulty of intracorporeal oesophagojejunostomy. Theoretically, an intracorporeal single-stapling oesophagojejunostomy using a circular stapler could be commonly used and provide favourable outcomes for TLTG, as in open total gastrectomy(OTG), in which the use of circular staplers in oesophagojejunostomy is common and the standard procedure. This could be possible if use of a laparoscopic purse-string suture along the distal oesophagus were made easy and simple.

The features of ES on ultrasonography (US) have received little attention. Therefore, we report the sonographic findings in a case of an ES that originated from the abdominal wall and discuss the previously reported cases.

However, the mechanism underlying cardiac hypertrophy remains not fully understood. Here we provided evidence that G protein-coupled receptor 39 (GPR39) promotes cardiac hypertrophy via inhibiting AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) signaling.

The aims of this study were to establish reference values of PWV for ultrafast ultrasound imaging in a prospective, multicenter, population-based cohort study and to investigate the main determinants of carotid PWV.

Background: Dual-specificity phosphatase 9 (DUSP9) belongs to the dual-specificity protein phosphatase subfamily. Recently, increasing attention has been paid on the role of DUSP9 in a variety of cancers. However, its functional role in tumor development is still unclear, especially in colorectal cancer (CRC).

Owning to its excellent luminescence and excellent water stability, complex 1 can be used as a super sensitive sensor to detect Fe ions via the behaviors of fluorescence quenching. At the same time, the mechanism for the fluorescence quenching is also further discussed.

An optimal procedure to achieve the DTR in TLPG remains to be established.
Methods: During March 2018 to April 2019, 15 consecutive patients with gastric cancer in the upper third of the stomach underwent intracorporeal DTR after TLPG at our hospital.
Primary liver cancer (PLC) may be mainly classified as the following four types: hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC), hepatoblastoma (HB), and combined hepatocellular carcinoma and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (cHCC-ICC). The majority of PLC develops in the background of tumor microenvironment, such as inflammatory microenvironments caused by viral hepatitis, alcoholic or nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, carbon tetrachloride (CCl), 3,5-diethoxycarbonyl-1,4-dihydrocollidine (DDC), and necroptosis-associated hepatic cytokine microenvironment caused by necroptosis of hepatocytes. However, the impact of different types of microenvironments on the phenotypes of PLC generated by distinct oncogenes is still unclear.

Acute gastric lesions are commonly seen in critically ill patients in the intensive care unit and can result in significant upper gastrointestinal bleeding. However, the signaling mechanisms that regulate this severe disease are still unclear. In this study, we explored the involvement of gastrokine 2 (GKN2) in the development of acute gastric lesions in mice.

Background: The GKN2 is a secretory protein, whose levels decrease in gastric cancer. The present study aimed to investigate the expression, function and mechanism of action of GKN2 in gastric cancer.
Methods: Molecular biology assays were performed to elucidate the function and underlying mechanisms of GKN2 in gastric cancer under stress-induced condition in vivo and in vitro.
Background: Intracorporeal anastomoses in totally laparoscopic gastrectomy (TLG) remain technical challenges to many surgeons, although the intracorporeal jejunojejunal or gastrojejunal anastomosis is an essential procedure during TLG. Standardized, reproducible and simple circular-stapled anastomosis in open gastrectomy is limited in TLG due to the difficulties of intracorporeal purse-string suture or anvil placement. An optimal procedure for intracorporeal anastomosis in TLG remains to be established.
