Background/aims: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of obstructive jaundice on Infectious Complications of the patients who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy.

Methodology: One-hundred and sixteen consecutive patients without preoperative biliary drainage underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy from January 2006 to April 2010 and their data of post-operative complication were analyzed. Different level of bilirubin and different times of jaundice on infectious complications of the patients underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy were analysis.
