Background: Furmonertinib (AST2818) is a brain penetrant pan-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) targeting both EGFR sensitizing mutations and T790M mutation. We report the pooled central nervous system (CNS) efficacy data of furmonertinib in patients with EGFR T790M mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) from two phase 2 studies.
Methods: This was a pooled, post-hoc analysis of two phase 2 studies (NCT03127449 [phase 2a study of furmonertinib], NCT03452592 [phase 2b study of furmonertinib]).
Background: Treatment options for Chinese patients with locally advanced or metastatic squamous-cell non-small-cell lung cancer (sqNSCLC) after failure of first-line chemotherapy are limited. This study (ORIENT-3) aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of sintilimab versus docetaxel as second-line treatment in patients with locally advanced or metastatic sqNSCLC.
Methods: ORIENT-3 was an open-label, multicenter, randomized controlled phase 3 trial that recruited patients with stage IIIB/IIIC/IV sqNSCLC after failure with first-line platinum-based chemotherapy.
Introduction: As a novel third-generation EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), SH-1028 (formerly oritinib) is developed to inhibit both sensitizing EGFR mutations and EGFR T790M mutation.
Methods: This was a multicenter, single-arm, open-label, phase 2 trial (NCT03823807). Eligible patients were those with advanced NSCLC with centrally confirmed EGFR T790M mutation who progressed after first- or second-generation EGFR TKIs or with primary EGFR T790M mutations.
Due to tumor heterogeneity, the consistency of programmed cell death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression between circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and tissue is controversial. This study aimed to establish a method for detecting CTC PD-L1 expression and exploring the impact of the same on the prognosis of lung cancer. In 32 patients with non-small cell lung cancer, lung cancer cells in the blood were enriched using CD326 immunomagnetic beads.

The CellSearch system is the only FDA approved and successful used detection technology for circulating tumor cells(CTCs). However, the process for identification of CTCs by CellSearch appear to damage the cells, which may adversely affects subsequent molecular biology assays. We aimed to explore and establish a membrane-preserving method for immunofluorescence identification of CTCs that keeping the isolated cells intact.

This study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of furmonertinib in patients with EGFR T790M mutated advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Methods: This study was a single-arm, open-label, phase 2b study at 46 hospitals across mainland China.
The goal of this study was to develop a potential druggable target for lung injury after SABR through the small animal model. Utilising the model, a radiation dose of 70 Gy or 90 Gy was focally (small volume) delivered to the left lung of mice. The highly expressed phosphorylation form of C-Raf was discovered through a protein array experiment, with the protein being extracted from the area of radiated mouse lung tissue, and was confirmed by IHC and western blot.

Although miR‑218 has been demonstrated to be downregulated in several types of cancer, including medulloblastoma (MB), its involvement in MB is unclear. In the present study, the expression of miR‑218 and SH3GL1 were assessed in four MB cell lines and normal cerebellum by qPCR.

Methods: The prospective, randomized, controlled method was adopted. One hundred and thirty-three patients with NSCLC were randomly assigned to 3 groups: Shenyi Capsule group (43 cases), combined therapy group (Shenyi Capsule plus chemotherapy, 46 cases), and chemotherapy group (44 cases).
Objective: To explore the effect and possible mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) on survival and quality of life (QOL) in patients with esophageal carcinoma after esophagectomy.
Methods: Adopting prospective controlled method of study, the authors had 128 post-esophagectomy patients, hospitalized from February 2001 to February 2002, randomly divided into 3 groups: the TCM group, treated with TCM drugs alone; the chemotherapy group, with chemotherapy alone applied; and the synthetic group, treated with chemotherapy combined with Chinese medicine. Their survival rate and QOL were compared.
