We proposed a viewing angle controller (VAC) for automotive co-driver displays (CDDs). This VAC, integrated with the CDD, provides essential information to the co-driver while minimizing distractions for the driver. It consists of two hybrid alignment nematic (HAN) liquid crystal cells, two -C films, and two polarizers.

Actuators based on liquid crystals have garnered significant attention due to their potential applications in wearable technology and bionic soft robots. Composite films composed of liquid crystal polymer networks (LCNs) and other stimulus-responsive materials exhibit the capability to convert external stimuli into mechanical deformation. However, the development of sunlight-driven actuators presents significant challenges, primarily due to the relatively low intensity of sunlight and the limited conversion efficiency of photothermal materials.

Methods: We retrospectively analysed patients with locally advanced resectable ESCC who underwent surgery at the Jining First People's Hospital from April 2020 to April 2022. Based on their medical history, the enrolled patients were divided into a neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy plus surgery group (nICT group) and a surgery-only group (S group).
Introduction: To explore whether neoadjuvant Sintilimab is suitable for patients with gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma, we designed this study to evaluate the short-term efficacy and safety of neoadjuvant Sintilimab in combination with chemotherapy for resectable GEJ adenocarcinoma.
Methods: We retrospectively collected data on patients with GEJ adenocarcinoma who underwent surgery after receiving neoadjuvant immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy at Jining First People's Hospital between October 2020 and October 2023. The primary endpoint was complete pathological response (pCR) rate; secondary endpoints: major pathological response (MPR) rate, neoadjuvant therapy-related adverse events (AES), the safety of surgery, Postoperative Complications, and overall survival (OS).
Anti-counterfeiting technology plays an indispensable role in the high-tech field and various critical application areas. However, traditional anti-counterfeiting approaches currently in widespread use are too simplistic and easily replicated or forged, while advanced technologies with multiple anti-counterfeiting functions remain in the developmental stage. This study presents a novel multiple anti-counterfeiting technique.

Moreover, how to identify local alveolar wall collapse in situ lung adenocarcinoma and how to identify whether the trapped adenoid structure around scar is an invasion component have become the key points for accurate diagnosis of lung adenocarcinoma. In the present study, we detected 40 cases of lung adenocarcinoma in situ and 40 cases of invasive adenocarcinoma by using immunohistochemical techniques.

Based on the two-wave panel data of China Education Panel Survey (CEPS), this paper empirically examines the impact of daily physical exercise duration on junior middle school students' cognitive abilities, by using the two-way fixed-effect estimation. The findings reveal a nonlinear relationship, specifically an inverted "U"-shaped pattern, between daily time length of physical activities or sports and students' cognitive performance.

Background: Colon cancer presents a substantial risk to the well-being of elderly people worldwide. With advancements in medical technology, surgical treatment has become the primary approach for managing colon cancer patients. However, due to age-related physiological changes, especially a decline in cognitive function, older patients are more susceptible to the effects of surgery and anesthesia, increasing the relative risk of postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD).

Under the background of global warming, the proportion of diatoms in total phytoplankton communities has been declining in many high-latitude fjords due to increased turbidity and oligotrophication resulting from glacier melting. However, due to the habitat heterogeneity among Svalbard fjords, diatom responses to glacier melting are also expected to be complex, which will further lead to changes in the biological carbon pumping and carbon sequestration.

Recently, photodynamic therapy (PDT) combined with chemotherapy has been proven to further improve the efficiency of cancer treatment. As such, combining autophagy inhibition with PDT and chemotherapy may represent a potentially effective new strategy for cancer treatment.

Basic medicine primarily focuses on acid suppression, gastric protection, and vomiting suppression, but there are still many patients with nausea and vomiting symptoms that cannot be alleviated. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) can effectively alleviate nausea and vomiting through acupoint stimulation and pressure, while also offering advantages such as simplicity, affordability, and fewer side effects.

Herein, 2D hemin-bridged MOF nanozyme (2D-ZHM) was fabricated and applied to the efficient removal and ultrasensitive dual-mode aptasensing of OPs. On the one hand, the prepared 2D-ZHM contained Zr-OH groups with high affinity for phosphate groups, endowing it with selective recognition and high adsorption capacity for OPs (285.

Background: Although there is growing demand for hospice care in China due to its aging population and increasing cancer rates, the sector remains slow to expand. Oncology nurses are the primary providers of hospice care, but little is known about their behaviors towards hospice care and related factors.
Methods: This cross-sectional study conveniently sampled 933 oncology nurses from six grade A tertiary hospitals in Hubei Province between January to March 2022.

Due to the diverse clinical presentation and lack of uniform diagnostic criteria, GFAP-A can easily be overlooked or diagnosed as another disease. It is even rarer when presenting as an isolated spinal cord lesion.

The planar state of a cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) often exhibits oily streak defects, which negatively impact the characteristics of precision optics, including transmission and selective reflection. In this paper, we introduced polymerizable monomers into liquid crystals and examined the effects of monomer concentration, polymerization light intensity, and chiral dopant concentration on oily streak defects in CLC. With the proposed method of heating cholesteric liquid crystals to the isotropic phase followed by rapid cooling, the oil streak defects presented in the liquid crystal can be successfully eliminated.

Bacteria are single-celled organisms that carry a comparatively small set of genetic information, typically consisting of a few thousand genes that can be selectively activated or repressed in an energy-efficient manner and transcribed to encode various biological functions in accordance with environmental changes. Research over the last few decades has uncovered various ingenious molecular mechanisms that allow bacterial pathogens to sense and respond to different environmental cues or signals to activate or suppress the expression of specific genes in order to suppress host defenses and establish infections. In the setting of infection, pathogenic bacteria have evolved various intelligent mechanisms to reprogram their virulence to adapt to environmental changes and maintain a dominant advantage over host and microbial competitors in new niches.
