It is essential for clinicians to select the appropriate endotracheal tube to ensure effective airway management. However, an unmatched endotracheal tube cuff area to the airway area can lead to air or secretion leakage, even at the recommended cuff pressure of 20-30 cmHO. The present multicenter prospective observational study aimed to determine the relationship between the difference in cuff area and airway area with the minimum cuff pressure to avoid airway leakage.

2D semi-metallic hafnium ditelluride material is used in several applications such as solar steam generation, gas sensing, and catalysis owing to its strong near-infrared absorbance, high sensitivity, and distinctive electronic structure. The zero-bandgap characteristics, along with the thermal and dynamic stability of 2D-HfTe make it a desirable choice for developing long-wavelength-range photonics devices. Herein, the HfTe -nanosheets are prepared using the liquid-phase exfoliation method, and their superior nonlinear optical properties are demonstrated by the obtained modulation depth of 11.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) induces tumour cell death by producing reactive oxygen species (ROS), and hypoxia is one of the main factors that limits its efficiency. In our previous study, bufalin (BU) enhanced photosensitizer mTHPC-mediated PDT therapy in colorectal cancer (CRC) cells, but its mechanism was not elucidated. To explore a strategy for improving the efficacy of PDT, we designed iRGD-modified nanoparticles to co-capsuled mTHPC and BU for simultaneous delivery to the tumour site and explored the underlying mechanism of the synergistic anti-CRC effect.

Efficient charge storage media play a pivotal role in transistor-based memories and thus are under intense research. In this work, the charge storage ability of type-I InP/ZnS core/shell quantum dots is well revealed through studying a pentacene-based organic transistor with the quantum dots (QDs) integrated. The quantum well-like energy band structure enables the QDs to directly confine either holes or electrons in the core, signifying a dielectric layer-free nonvolatile memory.

Checkpoint inhibitors, such as anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies, have been shown to be extraordinarily effective, but their durable response rate remains low, especially in colorectal cancer (CRC). Recent studies have shown that photodynamic therapy (PDT) could effectively enhance PD-L1 blockade therapeutic effects, although the reason is still unclear. Here, we report the use of multifunctional nanoparticles (NPs) loaded with photosensitized mTHPC (mTHPC@VeC/T-RGD NPs)-mediated PDT treatment to potentiate the anti-tumor efficacy of PD-L1 blockade for CRC treatment and investigate the underlying mechanisms of PDT enhancing PD-L1 blockade therapeutic effect in this combination therapy.
