Fluorescent sensors reflect information such as the concentration or content of the analysis by interacting with a specific recognition group to change the signal of the fluorophore. It has attracted much attention because of its advantages of high sensitivity, fast detection speed and low cost, and it has become an effective alternative to traditional detection methods. Graphitic phase carbon nitride nanosheets (g-CNNs) are a class of carbon-based fluorescent nanomaterials derived from bulk graphite phase carbon nitride (g-CN), which have attracted much attention from scholars because of their advantages of low cost, simple fabrication, high quantum yield, strong stability and nontoxicity.

Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) is a critical biomarker for early tumor detection. However, accurately quantifying low-abundance ctDNA in human serum remains a significant challenge. To address this challenge, we introduce a bimodal biosensor tailored for detecting the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation L858R in specific nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients.

Nuclear matrix protein 22 (NMP22) is one of the most important tumor markers of bladder cancer and is significantly elevated in the urine of bladder cancer patients. Therefore, in this work, a highly sensitive ratiometric electrochemical immunosensor was constructed to detect NMP22 based on ZIF-8@MWCNTs@Chit@Fc@AuNPs composites. ZIF-8 had a large surface area and good adsorption ability.

Background And Objectives: Malignant hypertension (MHT) characterized by acute hypertension with retinopathy or multiorgan damage, is a severe form of hypertensive emergency and associated with target organ involvement and poor kidney outcome. However, the underlying mechanisms are unclear.

Methods: Eighty-four patients with acute severe hypertension from the Nephrology Department and Emergency Department in a single center during January 2016 and December 2017 were prospectively enrolled and divided into MHT ( n  = 48) and non-MHT ( n  = 36) subgroups according to target organ evaluation.

Objective: The relationship between noncoding RNAs and the prognosis of bladder cancer (BC) is still controversial. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between noncoding RNAs and prognosis by meta-analysis.

Methods: Comprehensive retrieval of PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, the Web of Science, CNKI, and WanFang databases is related to the correlation between noncoding RNAs and the prognosis of BC.

This study explored the impact of government-led high-standard farmland construction (HSFC) on market-oriented farmland transfer using a unified analysis framework of HSFC and farmland transfers. We used a binary probit model based on 660 questionnaires from five counties in Shandong Province, China to empirically analyze this impact. The results show that HSFC can significantly promote farmland lease-in while inhibiting lease-out.

People pose a serious risk by plants contaminated with lead in soil. However, the strength of lead enrichment capacity in root, stem, and leaf of the plant is still controversial. Therefore, a meta-analysis was conducted to investigate the ability of lead enrichment of root, stem, and leaf and the main influencing factors for lead absorption.

Background: Alcohol dependence (AD) is a complex addictive disorder with a high relapse rate. Previous studies have shown that both repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) may be effective for AD, and we aim to explore more effective treatment options to reduce relapse rates for AD.

Materials And Methods: A total of 263 AD patients were recruited.

Article Synopsis
  • The paper examines how foreign and institutional investors reacted to the COVID-19 pandemic in China using daily flow data.
  • It finds that foreign investors engaged in significant negative feedback trading, which helped stabilize the market, while institutional investors did not have a stabilizing effect.
  • Additionally, the study shows that both types of investors demonstrated stronger predictability of future returns during the pandemic, with greater impacts of their trading on market performance compared to the pre-pandemic period.

CA125 is a tumor marker which mainly exists in ovarian, the detection for it with high sensitivity is conducive to improve the effectiveness of tumor prevention and control at early state. Multi-layer graphene oxide derivatives from graphene, and has poor conductivity and high stacked properties that limit its further application. Multi-layer reduced graphene oxide frame (MrGOF) was composed of single-layer graphene sheet and exhibited 3D structure with good dispersion, better conductivity and electrochemical properties after multi-layer graphene oxide underwent alkaline peeling and thermally reduction, the modified graphene are easy to load and combine functional groups and metal nanoparticles.

Bacterial resistance to streptomycin is often acquired as a consequence of mutations in rpsL, the gene encoding ribosomal protein S12. Corynebacterium glutamicum is a non-pathogenic Gram-positive soil bacterium that has been widely used in industry. In a previous study, we screened several streptomycin-resistant rpsL K43 mutants of C.

A label-free electrochemical immunosensor was constructed for cancer antigen 125 (CA125) detection based on multiple-enlargement means of layer-by-layer (LBL) assembly of ordered mesoporous carbon (CMK-3), gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) and MgAl layered double hydroxides containing ferrocenecarboxylic acid (Fc@MgAl-LDH). A CMK-3(Au/Fc@MgAl-LDH)n multilaminate nanocomposites was designed using technology of LBL self-assembly among negatively charged Au NPs, positively charged CMK-3 and Fc@MgAl-LDH nanosheets. The CMK-3(Au/Fc@MgAl-LDH)n multilaminate nanocomposites was used as carriers to increase the immobilization of antibody and the number of loading Fc, conductors to strengthen conductivity and enhancers to amplify signal of Fc step-by-step.

To date, the treatment of acute kidney injury (AKI) remains a difficult problem for clinicians. In the present study, we assessed whether ZLN005, a novel peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ coactivator-1α (PGC-1α) agonist, can protect against ischemic AKI in vivo and in vitro. Notably, ZLN005 treatment significantly alleviated Ischemia-reperfusion (I/R)-induced tubular injury and reversed the decrease in hypoxia-reoxygenation-induced cell viability by restoring PGC-1α expression in a dose-dependent manner.

In the present study, we hypothesized that hypoxia-inducible factor 1α (HIF-1α)-mediated mitophagy plays a protective role in ischemia/reperfusion (I/R)-induced acute kidney injury (AKI). Mitophagy was evaluated by measuring the changes of mitophagy flux, mitochondria DNA copy number, and the changes of mitophagy-related proteins including translocase of outer mitochondrial membrane 20 (TOMM20), cytochrome c oxidase IV (COX IV), microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3B (LC3B), and mitochondria adaptor nucleoporin p62 in HK2 cells, a human tubular cell line. Results show that HIF-1α knockout significantly attenuated hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R)-induced mitophagy, aggravated H/R-induced apoptosis, and increased the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS).

Hypertensive crises are associated with high rates of target organ complications and poor outcomes. A recent shift from the definition of malignant hypertension to hypertension-multiorgan damage (MOD) contributes to the diagnosis and management of hypertensive crises. Here, we prospectively included 166 adult (≥18 years old) patients with hypertensive crises (blood pressure >180/120 mm Hg).

L-Theanine is a unique non-protein amino acid found in tea plants that has been shown to possess numerous functional properties relevant to food science and human nutrition. L-Theanine has been commercially developed as a valuable additive for use in food and beverages, and its market is expected to expand substantially if the production cost can be lowered. Although the enzymatic approach holds considerable potential for use in L-theanine production, demand exists for developing more tractable methods (than those currently available) that can be implemented under mild conditions and will reduce operational procedures and cost.
