Fusion genes generally serve as driver mutations in leukemia. The rearrangement of the RARA gene located on chromosome 17q21 is a molecular pathological feature of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). A series of RARA-involved fusion genes have been identified in variant APL, including one carrying the t(11;17)(q13;q21) translocation, resulting in the NUMA1::RARA fusion gene.

The current facts and guidelines pertaining to this entity are scarce, and there exist controversies. Upon reviewing the literature, we present the facts, analyze these controversies, and discourse on future prospects.

Methods: We retrospectively analyze the clinical data of female patients who underwent pelvic floor screening due to chronic pelvic pain at the Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Center of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2021 to December 2023. A total of 543 female patients meeting the study's inclusion and exclusion criteria are randomly selected from this dataset and allocated to the MPPS group.
BACKGROUND Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is an important treatment for severe aplastic anemia (SAA). It is known that SAA can evolve into malignant clonal diseases, such as acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML) or myelodysplastic syndrome. However, the transformation of SAA into AML after allo-HSCT is a rare phenomenon.

Methods: In this trial, 191 adult patients with intermediate/high risk MDS (IPSS score ≥ 0.5) randomly received decitabine using a standard regimen (20 mg/m /day for 5 consecutive days; n = 94) or an extended regimen with lower daily dose (12 mg/m /day for 8 consecutive days; n = 97) every 4 weeks, for a total of 4 cycles.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the prognostic value of metabolic tumor volume and lesion dissemination from baseline PET/CT in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and the prognostic value of them in the National Comprehensive Cancer Network International Prognostic Index (NCCN-IPI) subgroups.
Methods: A total of 113 patients who underwent F-FDG PET/CT examination in our institution were retrospectively collected. The MTV was measured by iterative adaptive algorithm.
Background: Fusarium is a conditional pathogen that can cause invasive infection in patients with hematological diseases under immune function.
Methods: A case of recurrent and refractory Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia was treated with allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation after chimeric antigen receptor-modified T cells treatment.
Results: During transplantation, disseminated Fusarium infection occurred, involving the skin, liver, spleen and central nervous system, and the patient eventually died.
Objectives: To retrospectively investigate the clinical characteristics, prognosis, treatment, and therapy outcome of Chinese patients with primary testicular lymphoma (PTL).
Methods: we collected data of 49 PTL patients from four hospitals over 13 years. The median age was 63 years old.
Background: Pomalidomide in combination with dexamethasone has demonstrated positive results in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM), but no data are available in China. We conducted a multicenter, single-arm trial to examine the efficacy and safety of bioequivalent generic pomalidomide plus low-dose dexamethasone in Chinese RRMM patients.
Methods: Adult (≥ 18 years of age) RRMM patients who progressed after at least two previous treatments, including bortezomib and lenalidomide, were eligible.
Background: Primary immune thrombocytopenia is an autoimmune bleeding disorder. Preclinical reports suggest that the sialidase inhibitor oseltamivir induces a platelet response in the treatment of immune thrombocytopenia. This study investigated the activity and safety of dexamethasone plus oseltamivir versus dexamethasone alone as initial treatment in adult patients with primary immune thrombocytopenia.

IBI301 is a recombinant chimeric murine/human anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody and is a candidate biosimilar to rituximab. This study aimed to assess the therapeutic equivalence of IBI301 and rituximab in previously untreated patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).

This patient experienced three recurrences over the ensuing one year of intermittent GCP treatments, with each recurrence occurring 7-8 wk from a GCP. After his third recurrence, he was prescribed successive treatment with rifampicin, berberine, and monthly administered GCP for 4 mo, and he developed an erythroid proliferative neoplasma and an overwhelming enteropathy, and eventually died of septic shock.

Complete blood count (CBC) examination by automated blood cell counter (ABCC) is a quick and convenient measurement for screening abnormalities of blood cells that are triggered by various pathogenic insults in disease diagnosis and for monitoring changes in the treatment of existing hematological conditions. However, CBC results are frequently affected by many intrinsic and extrinsic factors from blood samples, such as in the setting of hypergammaglobulinemia and certain anticoagulants.

No swollen lymph nodes or hepatosplenomegaly was detected on physical examination. His laboratory data indicated high levels of direct bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, aspartate aminotransferase, and alanine aminotransferase.

Reliable data regarding appropriate treatment of these specific entities are lacking due to their rarity. We reviewed 36 patients diagnosed at four Chinese medical centres between January 2008 and December 2018.

PPD with amino groups enabled GO to obtain anti-aging function. The structure of modified GO (PPD-GO) was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy.

Introduction: Burkitt's lymphoma (BL) is a rare and highly aggressive B cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. High toxicity of chemotherapy for BL treatment causes morbidity and mortality. Many miRNAs have been used as biomarkers for early detection or therapy targets for tumors.

Recently, the constant source to trigger and sustain the pathophysiology has been proposed to come from the altered gut microbiota and chronic intestinal inflammation. In this case, our serendipitous finding provides convincing evidence that the persistently dysregulated autoimmunity may be generated, at least in a significant proposition of AA patients, by the altered gut microbiota and compromised intestinal epithelium.

An AA model was developed by infusing C57BL/6 lymph node cells into BALB/c mice. At 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 days after modeling, routine blood counts, bone marrow biopsy slides, lymphocyte subsets (CD4 and CD8 T cells) and cytokine levels [including interleukin (IL)-2, IL-4, IL-5 and interferon-γ] were assessed.

Objective: To investigate the expression of miR-155 in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), and to explore the effect of transfection of miR-155 inhibitor on the biological characteristics of DLBCL cells.
Methods: A total of 76 patients with DLBCL treated in our hospital were selected from April 2013 to December 2017. In the same time, 40 cases of lymph node reactive hyperplasia (LNRH) were selected as control group.
Three dimensional (3D) culture has gradually become a research hotspot in the field of drug screening, stem cell research, and tissue engineering due to its more physiological-like morphology and function. In this study, we compared the differences of cell proliferation, population, protein expression and chemoresistance profiles between two dimensional (2D) and 3D culture of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) Jurkat cell line. Polycaprolactone (PCL) is used for 3D culture owing to its biochemical properties and compatibility.
