Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to compare various machine learning algorithms to differentiate between benign tumors and adrenal metastases in lung cancer patients using CT imaging data.
  • It involved a total of 292 lung cancer patients, where radiomics features were extracted from CT scans and analyzed using techniques like SVM, random forest, decision tree, and logistic regression.
  • Results revealed that the combined radiomics model had the highest predictive accuracy (AUC=0.938) for identifying adrenal metastases, outperforming other models and demonstrating better clinical utility.

Aims: To investigate whether the relative signal intensity surrounding the residual cavity on T2-fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (rFLAIR) can improve the survival prediction of lower-grade glioma (LGG) patients.

Methods: Clinical and pathological data and the follow-up MR imaging of 144 patients with LGG were analyzed. We calculated rFLAIR with Image J software.

The action of β-glucosidase and protease of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens SWJS22 in the fermentation of soybean meal caused a significant increase 1): in total phenolic and flavonoid contents with two-fold or higher, largely associated with daidzein, glycitein, genistein, protocatechuic, and p-hydroxybenzoic, gallic acids; 2): the amount of peptides <3 kDa, maillard reaction intermediate and maillard reaction product with five-, three- and twenty-one-fold, respectively. The significant increase in the amount of antioxidant components in the lyophilised fermented soybean meal supernatant (LFSMS) was associated with the improved antioxidant activity. Namely, the DPPH radical scavenging activity, reducing power, and oxygen radical absorbance capacity of the LFSMS generally increased, and LFSMS (at doses >250 mg/kg body weight) improved the activities of superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, catalase and total antioxidant capacity, and inhibited the formation of malondialdehyde in mouse serum and liver (p < 0.

A new method using MCE with LIF detection was developed for the determination of hydrogen peroxide (H(2)O(2)). Bis(p-methylbenzenesulfonyl)dichlorofluorescein, a new fluorogenic reagent synthesized by our laboratory was employed as a labeling reagent, the derivatization reaction was performed in 0.10 M HEPES buffer (pH 7.

Objective: Correlative characteristic peaks of HPLC selected by rough sets were employed to identify the habitats of Radix Astragali.

Method: Using HPLC fingerprints of Radix Astragali sampled from different sources as examples, the reduct of attributes was achieved via rough sets, and therefore characteristic peaks correlated to identification of habitats were selected. Hierarchical cluster analysis was served for identifying the habitats of Radix Astragali.
