Enhancing the optical anisotropy of compounds has attracted significant interest in the optical field. Sn-centered crystals, containing stereochemically active lone pairs, are widely regarded as promising birefringent materials. In this study, we successfully synthesized two novel Sn-centered mixed halide birefringent crystals, NaSnFBr and NaSnFI.

China and the United States of America (USA) represent two distinct epicenters of EC burden. Understanding the EC disparities in these two countries is vital for tailoring prevention strategies, optimizing treatment, and enhancing outcomes in both countries.

However, an ongoing epidemiological transition in which cancer surpasses CVD has been observed in many high and middle-income countries. In this study, we provided a nationwide analysis of the transition towards cancer mortality predominance over CVD mortality in Brazil.

Background: A milestone goal of the Healthy China Program (2019-2030) is to achieve 5-year cancer survival at 43.3% for all cancers combined by 2022. To assess the progress towards this target, we analyzed the updated survival for all cancers combined and 25 specific cancer types in China from 2019 to 2021.

Background: Breast cancer is ranked among the most prevalent malignancies in the Chinese female population. However, comprehensive reports detailing the latest epidemiological data and attributable disease burden have not been extensively documented.
Methods: In 2018, high-quality cancer surveillance data were recorded in 700 population-based cancer registries in China.
Three organic-inorganic metal iodides, namely, (NH)(l-hp)ZnI (), [Cd(l-hp)]CdI (), and (l-Hhp)(l-hp)PbI (), have been synthesized using l-homoproline (l-hp) as the structure-directing agent. These compounds feature different noncentrosymmetric structures and optical properties. In particular, compound shows a large second-harmonic-generation response of 3.

However, the functional role and potential mechanisms of the m6A readers in prostate cancer tumorigenicity remain to be elucidated. In this study, we demonstrate that YTHDF3 expression is elevated in castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) and positively correlated to high grade, bone metastasis and poor survival.

The two compounds have zero-dimensional structures crystallized in non-centrosymmetric orthorhombic space group 2 and 222, respectively. In compound 1, the divalent tin ion forms a seesaw coordination configuration with four chloride ions, whereas in compound 2, the tetravalent tin ion forms an octahedral coordination configuration with six chloride ions.

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) calculates and publishes the cancer burden of countries around the world every two years. To ensure consistency between the actual surveillance data in China and the data published by IARC, NCC has received approval from the National Health Commission and IARC to simultaneously release the cancer burden data for China in GLOBOCAN 2022.

We have developed two innovative van der Waals layered germanous phosphites: GeHPO, the first Ge(II)-based oxide NLO crystal which exhibits a black phosphorus-like structure, and K(GeHPO)Br, distinguished by its exceptional birefringence and graphene-like structure. Significantly, GeHPO exhibits a remarkable array of NLO properties, including the highest SHG coefficient recorded among all NLO crystals for phase-matching and generating 266 nm coherent light via quadruple frequency conversion.

In this study, we synthesized two novel short-wave ultraviolet (UV) nonlinear optical (NLO) crystals: KBe(SeO)(OH)·HO and KBe(SeO). Interestingly, the two compounds show the same SeO triangular pyramids and K-O polyhedra.

Methods: 700 population-based cancer registries provided relevant cancer incidence and mortality data for the year 2018. Among these, 106 registries had continuous monitoring data suitable for trend analysis from 2010 to 2018.
Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a serious disease causing human dementia and social problems. The quality of life and prognosis of AD patients have attracted much attention. The role of chronic immune inflammation in the pathogenesis of AD is becoming more and more important.

Background: The incidence of gastric cancer (GC) decreased in past decades, which was thought largely attributable to risk factors control, yet China still accounts for 44% of global GC burdens. We aimed to estimate changing trajectories of proportions of GC burdens attributable to modifiable risk factors from 2000 to 2050 in China, to inform future targeted preventive strategies.
Methods: The incidence and new cases of GC were predicted to 2050 using Bayesian age-period-cohort model based on incidence data by anatomical subsites drawn from 682 cancer registries from National Central Cancer Registry.
