We propose a dual-parameter surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor based on a simple, and effective incidence angle adjustment method. It is capable of simultaneously detecting the refractive index and temperature of a liquid. For conventional SPR fiber sensors, the resonance dip will be abnormally broadened in the near-infrared band, leading to difficulty in identifying the SPR dip by the spectrometer.

Article Synopsis
  • The chloroplast genomes of Bulbophyllum orchids, known for their conserved structure, were sequenced in this study to explore the impact of geographic isolation on their evolution.
  • Significant differences in cp genome features were observed between the Asian and South American clades, particularly in terms of structural characteristics and mutational hotspots.
  • The findings suggest that long-term geographic isolation has led to divergent evolution in Bulbophyllum cp genes, with implications for understanding the role of the crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM) pathway in their development.

Aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA) is a main cause of primary aldosteronism (PA). Given that a large benign-appearing unilateral masse (>1 cm in diameter) may represent an aldosterone and cortisol-co-secreting adenoma, dexamethasone suppression testing is required in such patients to exclude or confirm the diagnosis of hypercortisolism. Tuberculosis is highly prevalent in China, and rifamycins are often used in these patients.
