In semiconductor catalysts, rational doping of nonmetallic elements holds significant scientific and technological importance for enhancing photocatalytic performance. Here, using a one-step hydrothermal technique, we synthesized iodine-doped BiOCl composite and evaluated the impact of iodine doping on its photocatalytic capability for organic dye degradation under visible light irradiation. In this study, we demonstrate that the introduction of iodide ions not only provides an ideal built-in electric field (BIEF) for BiOCl but also induces the generation of additional oxygen vacancies (OVs).

Background: Malformations of cortical development (MCD) are a group of congenital disorders characterized by structural abnormalities in the brain cortex. The clinical manifestations include refractory epilepsy, mental retardation, and cognitive impairment. Genetic factors play a key role in the etiology of MCD.

Interrupted aortic arch (IAA) is a rare complex congenital heart disease characterized by interrupted continuity between ascending aorta and descending aorta. Prenatal diagnosis of IAA by echocardiography is not uncommonly reported despite its rarity. However, employing four-dimensional ultrasound HD-flow imaging and spatiotemporal image correlation (STIC) in diagnosis of this condition has seldom been reported.

Basing on alternative splicing events (ASEs) databases, the authors herein aim to explore potential prognostic biomarkers for cervical squamous cell carcinoma (CESC). mRNA expression profiles and relevant clinical data of 223 patients with CESC were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Correlated genes, ASEs and percent-splice-in (PSI) were downloaded from SpliceSeq, respectively.

Article Synopsis
  • * The main types include double aortic arch (DAA), right aortic arch with left ductus arteriosus (RAA-ALSA), and pulmonary artery sling (PAS), which can happen alone or with other heart issues.
  • * In the reported case, a fetus was diagnosed with PAS and RAA-ALSA before birth, and after delivery, experienced symptoms from compression of the esophagus and airway.

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is the main subtype of malignant kidney cancer. Long non‑coding RNA (lncRNA) serves a key role in predicting survival in patients with cancer. The present study aimed to develop an lncRNA‑related signature of prognostic values for patients with ccRCC.

Introduction: Transplant rates in Singapore have been falling and there is limited information on baseline characteristics and clinical outcomes of living kidney donors nationally. This study aimed to determine the safety of living kidney donor transplant in Singapore by exploring the proportion of donors that meets international selection guidelines and describing short-term clinical outcomes.

Materials And Methods: We analysed 472 donors who underwent nephrectomies from 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2014 from the Donor Care Registry.

Accumulating evidence has highlighted the important roles of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) acting as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) in tumor biology. However, the roles of cancer specific lncRNAs in lncRNA-related ceRNA network of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) are still unclear. In the present study, the 465 RNA sequencing profiles in LUAD patients were obtained from the cancer genome atlas (TCGA) database, which provides large sample RNA sequencing data free of charge, and 41 cancer specific lncRNAs, 25 miRNAs and 1053 mRNAs (fold change >2, p<0.

Mammalian metallothionein-2A (MT2A) has received considerable attention in recent years due to its crucial pathophysiological role in anti-oxidant, anti-apoptosis, detoxification and anti-inflammation. For many years, most studies evaluating the effects of MT2A have focused on reactive oxygen species (ROS), as second messengers that lead to oxidative stress injury of cells and tissues. Recent studies have highlighted that oxidative stress could activate mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs), and MT2A, as a mediator of MAPKs, to regulate the pathogenesis of various diseases.

Abnormal expression of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been shown to play an important role in tumor biology. The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) platform is a large sample sequencing database of lncRNAs, and further analysis of the associations between these data and patients' clinical related information can provide new approaches to find the functions of lncRNA. In the present study, 361 RNA sequencing profiles of gastric cancer (GC) patients were selected from TCGA.

The present paper takes Chuzhou in Anhui Province as the research area, and deciduous broad-leaved forest as the research object. Then it constructs the recognition model about deciduous broad-leaved forest was constructed using NDVI difference rate between leaf expansion and flowering and fruit-bearing, and the model was applied to HJ-CCD remote sensing image on April 1, 2012 and May 4, 2012. At last, the spatial distribution map of deciduous broad-leaved forest was extracted effectively, and the results of extraction were verified and evaluated.

Introduction: We presented the findings from 2 seroprevalence studies conducted 6 years apart, so as to determine changes in the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) positivity rate and immunity to hepatitis B virus (HBV) among Singapore residents aged 18 to 69 years, and to assess the impact of a 4-year catch-up hepatitis B immunisation programme for adolescents and young adults launched in 2001.

Materials And Methods: Two hepatitis B seroprevalence studies (HBSS) were conducted in 1999 and 2005 based on stored blood samples collected from 4698 participants aged 18 to 69 years during the national health survey (NHS) 1998 and from 3460 participants during the NHS 2004, respectively. Serology for HBsAg, hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg) and antibody to HBsAg (anti-HBs) were tested by enzyme immunoassay in HBSS 1999 and electrochemiluminescence in HBSS 2005.

Article Synopsis
  • The study assessed the effectiveness of interventional treatments for serious complications arising from procedures like percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography and biliary stent placement.
  • Among 113 patients, 13 experienced severe complications, including catheter slipping, bowel obstruction, and excessive bloody drainage, which were addressed using various technical interventions.
  • The findings highlight the importance of proactive strategies in managing complications to improve patient outcomes after biliary drainage and stent procedures.
