Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Chinese medicine (CM) Zihua Wenfei Zhisou Granule (ZWZG) in postinfectious cough (PIC) patients with CM syndrome of wind-cold invading Fei (Lung, WCIF).

Methods: This is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled phase II clinical trial. PIC patients with WCIF syndrome were recruited from the Respiratory Departments in 6 hospitals across China between March 2019 and December 2020.

Adipose Tissue Plasticity: A Comprehensive Definition and Multidimensional Insight.

Adipose tissue is composed of adipocytes, stromal vascular fraction, nerves, surrounding immune cells, and the extracellular matrix. Under various physiological or pathological conditions, adipose tissue shifts cellular composition, lipid storage, and organelle dynamics to respond to the stress; this remodeling is called "adipose tissue plasticity". Adipose tissue plasticity includes changes in the size, species, number, lipid storage capacity, and differentiation function of adipocytes, as well as alterations in the distribution and cellular composition of adipose tissue.

Safety and efficacy of sequential treatments for postmenopausal osteoporosis: a network meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials.

Background: The sequential anti-osteoporotic treatment for women with postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMO) is important, but the order in which different types of drugs are used is confusing and controversial. Therefore, we performed a network meta-analysis to compare the efficacy and safety of available sequential treatments to explore the most efficacious strategy for long-term management of osteoporosis.

Methods: In this network meta-analysis, we searched the PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library, and ClinicalTrials.

We used a predefined search strategy to retrieve eligible studies from multiple databases up to June 20, 2022.

A rhodamine B-based derivative (RL1) was developed as a specific fluorescent probe for HOCl. Meanwhile, morpholine moiety was introduced into the probe. It was found that the probe could display highly selective, sensitive and naked-eye detection upon the addition of HOCl.

Chinese Herbal Medicine for Advanced Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) has been widely used in the treatment of advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but their efficacy and safety remain controversial. We sought to comprehensively aggregate and evaluate the available evidence on the efficacy and safety of the combination treatment with CHM and epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) in NSCLC patients. Our exhausted and systematical searching strategy yielded 64 related randomized controlled trials involving 4384 patients.

In vivo and in vitro performance of a China-made hemodialysis machine: a multi-center prospective controlled study.

Objective: To evaluate the in vivo and in vitro performance of a China-made dialysis machine (SWS-4000).

Methods: This was a multi-center prospective controlled study consisting of both long-term in vitro evaluations and cross-over in vivo tests in 132 patients. The China-made SWS-4000 dialysis machine was compared with a German-made dialysis machine (Fresenius 4008) with regard to Kt/V values, URR values, and dialysis-related adverse reactions in patients on maintenance hemodialysis, as well as the ultrafiltration rate, the concentration of electrolytes in the proportioned dialysate, the rate of heparin injection, the flow rate of the blood pump, and the rate of malfunction.
