Background: Studies have shown that fine particulate matter (PM) remains a significant problem in developing countries and plays a critical role in the onset and progression of respiratory illnesses. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are involved in many pathophysiological processes, but their relationship to PM pollution is largely unexplored.

Objectives: To elucidate the functional role of hsa_circ_0000992 in PM-induced inflammation in a human bronchial epithelial cell line (16HBE) and to clarify whether the competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) mechanism is involved in the interrelationships between hsa_circ_0000992 and hsa-miR-936 and the inflammatory signaling pathways.

  • - This study investigates the effects of acteoside on metabolic changes in young rats with purinomycin aminonucleoside nephropathy (PAN) using urine metabolomics to identify potential biochemical markers and metabolic pathways involved.
  • - Acteoside was found to significantly lower the urinary protein-to-creatinine ratio in these rats, with 17 differential metabolites linked to amino acid metabolism being identified, particularly in phenylalanine and proline pathways.
  • - Two key biomarkers, leucylproline and acetophenone, demonstrated strong diagnostic potential, suggesting that acteoside helps treat PAN in young rats by influencing amino acid metabolism, which may aid in understanding its role in chronic glomerulonephritis treatment

Children's fever is often accompanied by food accumulation. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that removing food stagnation while clearing heat of children can effectively avoid heat damage. To systematically evaluate the efficacy of Xiaoer Chiqiao Qingre Granules(XRCQ) in clearing heat and removing food accumulation and explore its potential mechanism, this study combined suckling SD rats fed with high-sugar and high-fat diet with injection of carrageenan to induce rat model of fever and food accumulation.

Through the non-targeted metabonomics study on endogenous substances in APP/PS1 transgenic mice, this paper aimed to discover biomarkers related to APP/PS1 mice with cognitive dysfunction, and find targets of Huanglian Jiedu Decoction(HLJDD) in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease(AD) and its mechanism. The brain tissue and serum metabolic mass spectrometry of mice were analyzed by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-Orbitrap mass spectrometry(UPLC-Orbitrap MS). Through partial least squares-discriminant analysis(PLS-DA) and orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis(OPLS-DA), the metabolic data of the normal group, the model group, the high-dose and low-dose HLJDD groups, and the berberine group were compared and analyzed to screen out potential biomarkers, and the relevant metabolic pathways were constructed with the help of the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) database.

The objective of this study was to investigate the cardiac protective effect of low-to-moderate intensity exercise training and the role of the Wnt signaling pathway in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). SHR and Wistar-Kyoto (WKY) rats were randomly divided into 5 groups, namely hypertensive control (SHR-S), hypertensive plus exercise training (SHR-E), normal blood pressure control (WKY-S), normal blood pressure plus exercise training (WKY-E) and SHR-E plus Wnt agonist (SHR-E-Wnt). The rats in SHR-E and WKY-E groups underwent low-to-moderate intensity swimming for 16 weeks, and the rats in SHR-E-Wnt group were injected with Wnt agonist 1 through tail vein 4 weeks before the end of swimming.

Objective: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) and the increasing severity of coronary artery tortuosity (CAT) in patients with non-stenosed coronaries.

Methods: A total of 396 patients who underwent coronary angiography and cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) between August 2020 and July 2021 were included in this single-center retrospective study after excluding patients with significant coronary artery disease (≥50% stenosis). Patients were divided into two groups: no or mild coronary artery tortuosity (N/M-CAT) and moderate to severe coronary artery tortuosity (M/S-CAT) and laboratory electrocardiographic, echocardiographic, and CPET parameters were compared between two groups.

Quality evaluation of Chinese medicinal decoction pieces is vital for the development of the downstream industries, and is an important channel for implementing the strategy of "higher quality, higher price, and priority for the high quality" for traditional Chinese medicine. At the moment, the quality of Chinese medicinal decoction pieces is mainly evaluated based on chemical component examination. Considering the weak preliminary research foundation and poor research conditions, traditional experience-based evaluation is undervalued in the quality rating of Chinese medicinal decoction pieces.
