Background: Extracellular vesicles (EVs) released by helminths play an important role in parasite-host communication. However, little is known about the characteristics and contents of the EVs of Fasciola gigantica, a parasitic flatworm that causes tropical fascioliasis. A better understanding of EVs released by F.

Methods: Microarray analysis was used to identify lncRNAs expression during polarization of U937 macrophages from M2 to M1 phenotype.
BACKGROUND Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been shown to play an important regulatory role in many tumors. This study was designed to investigate the expression of lncRNA ENST00000429227.1 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and to determine whether the expression of lncRNA ENST00000429227.

However, little is known about changes of DNA (hydroxy)methylation on DC development during Fasciola gigantica infection. The present study aimed to investigate whether F.

In this study, berberine treatment upregulated miR-22-3p expression in HepG2 cells. Therefore, we investigated whether berberine suppresses the proliferation of HCC cells and explored the underlying mechanism.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAccumulating researches show that thyroid hormone (TH) inhibits Sertoli cells (SCs) proliferation and stimulates their functional maturation in prepubertal rat testis, confirming that TH plays a key role in testicular development. However, the mechanism under the T3 regulation of piglet SC proliferation remains unclear. In the present study, in order to investigate the possible mechanism of T3 on the suppression of SC proliferation, the expression pattern of TRα1 and cell cycle-related molecules, effect of T3 on SC proliferation, and the role of phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt signaling pathway on the T3-mediated SC proliferation in piglet testis were explored.

However, whether signaling through toll-like receptors (TLRs) plays any role in AAMφ induction when young Fasciola hepatica penetrates the liver capsule and migrates through the liver tissue is still unclear.
Results: The data show that the lack of myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD88) has no effect on the AAMφ derived from the bone marrow (BMMφ) in vitro and does not impair the mRNA expression of arginase-1, resistin-like molecule (RELMα), and Ym1 in BMMφs.
To perform phylogenetic analysis of Mycoplasma suis isolates derived from China to define the nature of this pathogen, nearly complete of 16S rRNA genes from Chongqing, Sichuan, Henan and Guangdong isolates were amplified by PCR and sequenced. The four sequences from the blood samples in this study, with other 17 Hemoplasmas sequences and related 3 mycoplasma sequences available in the GenBank, were aligned using Clustal X (version 1.83) sequences alignment program.
