Background And Purpose: Chuanxiong Qingnao Granles (CQG), has been used to treat migraine headache (MH) for many years. However, current investigation of CQG have primarily focused on clinical studies, and the potential mechanisms underlying of its effects on MH have not been fully elucidated. In the present study, we applied an integrated approach of transcriptomics and metabolomics to elucidate the therapeutic mechanisms of CQG in nitroglycerin (NTG)-induced MH injury.

The evaluation of the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has long been a "bottleneck" issue that restricts the healthy development and internationalization of TCM. This article systematically analyzes the differences in diagnostic and treatment principles, material composition, new drug development pathways, efficacy cognition, and evaluation methodology between Chinese and Western medicine from the underlying logic of medical perspective. On this basis, it integrates the evidence elements of clinical experience, experimental research, and clinical trials, and for the first time proposes and establishes a new strategy and methodology for the evaluation of the effectiveness of TCM: the integrated evidence chain-based effectiveness evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine(iEC-Eff), forming an integrated evaluation and confirmation model of "clinical experience-experimental research-clinical trial" for the effectiveness of TCM.

Myocardial infarction(MI) is a cardiovascular disease with high disability and mortality rates in clinical practice, which can subsequently develop into complications such as heart failure(HF) or cardiac rupture. Proteomics can track changes in relevant functional molecules during the occurrence and progression of diseases from an overall, molecular, systematic, and flux perspectives. Utilizing proteomic techniques to deeply explore the functional targets, molecular mechanisms, and network effects of MI and HF can aid in early diagnosis, early warning, and drug treatment of these diseases.

With the advent of the "post-pilot era" of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules, there are still a series of policy, technical, and industrial issues that need to be addressed in their production, regulation, and application practices. This article systematically reviews the development history and relevant policy evolution of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules, and summarizes the current industrial status in terms of quality standards, medical insurance payments, and market landscape. Based on a comparative analysis and positioning discussion between traditional Chinese medicine formula granules and traditional herbal decoctions, it is believed that the following practical issues still exist in this field:(1)A reasonable competitive evolution mechanism has not yet been formed, making it difficult to "improve quality and efficiency" of products;(2)The number of national standards is limited, and local standards operate independently;(3)Production processes are relatively constrained;(4)There is a contradiction between fixed equivalents and fluctuations in raw materials;(5)Market positioning needs to be clarified, and medication scenarios are limited.

Background: Using event-related potentials (ERPs), we aimed to investigate audiovisual integration neural mechanisms during a letter identification task in the left and right sides. Unimodal (A,V) and bimodal (AV) stimuli were presented on either side, with ERPs from unimodal (A,V) stimuli on the same side being compared to those from simultaneous bimodal stimuli (AV). Non-zero results of the AV-(A + V) difference waveforms indicated audiovisual integration on the left/right side.

Osteoporosis is a common systemic metabolic disease characterized by a decrease in bone density and bone mass, destruction of bone tissue microstructure, and increased bone fragility leading to fracture susceptibility. Pharmacological treatment of osteoporosis is the focus of current research, and anti-osteoporosis drugs usually play a role in inhibiting bone resorption, promoting bone formation, and having a dual role. However, most of the drugs have the disadvantages of single target and high toxic and side effects.

Article Synopsis
  • Drug targets are crucial biological molecules that interact with drugs, so identifying them helps us understand how drugs work, their effectiveness, and potential side effects.
  • * Mass spectrometry is a powerful technique used for identifying and quantifying proteins, making it valuable for drug-target screening and understanding drug-protein interactions.
  • * Traditional methods for characterizing drug targets often require time-consuming chemical modifications, leading to new approaches that avoid these modifications and utilize different conditions to stabilize protein-drug complexes for more efficient identification.*

The unknown effect of sesame lignans on aroma formation in sesame oil via the Maillard reaction (MR) and lipid oxidation was investigated. Sesamin, sesamolin, or sesamol was added to 3 models: lysine+glucose (MR), cold-pressed sesame oil (SO), and MR + SO, and were heated at 120 °C for 60 min. All three lignans suppressed SO oxidation while increasing DPPH scavenging ability (p < 0.

This study investigated the anti-aging mechanism of Xiyangshen Sanqi Danshen Granules based on metabonomics, network pharmacology, and molecular docking. The aging mice model was induced by intraperitoneal injection of D-galactose(D-gal). Mice were randomly divided into a control group, model group, melatonin group(MT group), and low, medium, and high dose groups of Xiyangshen Sanqi Danshen Granules(XSD-L, XSD-M, and XSD-H).

Article Synopsis
  • Ischemic stroke occurs in three phases (acute, subacute, recovery) and causes ongoing immune and inflammatory reactions that worsen brain damage over time.
  • The interaction between the central nervous system and the immune system is key, with local inflammation and immune system disruption leading to increased neuroinflammation.
  • The study reviews these interactions and discusses the potential of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in preventing and treating ischemic stroke by targeting these complex mechanisms.

Vascular dementia (VaD) represents a severe cognitive dysfunction syndrome closed linked to cardiovascular function. In the present study, we assessed the potential of Xinshubao tablet (XSB), a traditional Chinese prescription widely used for cardiovascular diseases, to mitigate neuropathological damage in a mouse model of VaD and elucidated the underlying mechanisms. Our findings revealed that oral administration of XSB rescued the cardiac dysfunction resulting from bilateral common carotid artery stenosis (BCAS), improved the cerebral blood flow (CBF) and cognitive function, reduced white matter injury, inhibited excessive microglial and astrocytic activation, stimulated hippocampal neurogenesis, and reduced neural apoptosis in the brains of BCAS mice.

Diabetic ulcers have become one of the major complications of diabetes mellitus (DM) and are a leading cause of death and disabling disease. However, current therapies are not effective enough to meet clinical needs. A traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula, Pien Tze Huang (PZH), is known as a medicine that is used to treat diabetic ulcers.

Scutellariae Radix-Coptidis Rhizoma(SR-CR) herbal pair is commonly used in many compound prescriptions for their synergistic heat-clearing and dampness-drying properties. During the decoction process, a substantial amount of precipitate is generated. However, there have been no explicit reports on the composition, morphology, and potential effects of this precipitate on the in vivo behavior of SR-CR decoction.

  • The study investigated how aerobic exercise and resistance training independently and together affect the risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) using data from a nationwide health survey in Korea.
  • Results showed that higher levels of aerobic activity significantly reduced the chances of developing NAFLD in both men and women, while frequent resistance training had a notable effect only in men.
  • Combining both aerobic and resistance exercises provided an even stronger protective effect against NAFLD for both genders, indicating that engaging in both types of physical activity is beneficial.
