Aims And Objectives: To prospectively evaluate the effects of a nurse-led educational intervention on the management of hyperphosphataemia as well as knowledge of phosphate among patients with end-stage renal disease.
Background: Haemodialysis and phosphate binder therapy are the major methods used to reduce the phosphate level in dialysis patients. However, patient education related to hyperphosphataemia, diet and phosphate binders may be another important factor associated with the success of the control of the hyperphosphataemia.
