Clonorchiosis, a disease that develops following the consumption of raw freshwater fish that harbors Clonorchis sinensis metacercariae, seriously threatens the health of residents in endemic areas. We aimed to assess the level of awareness of liver fluke infections among infected residents and restaurant workers in liver fluke infection-endemic areas. To identify and provide a more realistic description of C.

Ferroptosis, a lipid peroxide-dependent programed cell death pathway, holds significant potential for breast cancer treatment. Therefore, investigating the regulatory targets and associated mechanisms of ferroptosis is crucial.

We aimed to compare the efficacy of vaginal micronised progesterone tablets and 8% vaginal progesterone gel for LPS using real-world data.
Methods: This retrospective study included 459 fertilisation/intracytoplasmic sperm injection cycles performed at a university hospital from 2005 to 2019.
The effect of the serine/glycine-free diet (-SG diet) on colorectal cancer (CRC) remains unclear; meanwhile, programmed death-1 (PD-1) inhibitors are less effective for most CRC patients. Here, we demonstrate that the -SG diet inhibits CRC growth and promotes the accumulation of cytotoxic T cells to enhance antitumor immunity. Additionally, we also identified the lactylation of programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) in tumor cells as a mechanism of immune evasion during cytotoxic T cell-mediated antitumor responses, and blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathway is able to rejuvenate the function of CD8+ T cells recruited by the -SG diet, indicating the potential of combining the -SG diet with immunotherapy.

Due to the complexity and diversity of components, investigating the exposure, metabolism, and disposition remains a major challenge in TCM research. In recent years, a number of non-targeted smart mass-spectrometry (MS) techniques, such as precise-and-thorough background-subtraction (PATBS) and metabolomics, have realized the intelligent identification of in vivo components of TCM.

Oocyte and embryo cryopreservation before gonadotoxic treatment are established methods to increase the likelihood of live births. Although several sociodemographic factors were found to be associated with undergoing fertility preservation (FP) treatment, clinical characteristics such as planned immediate chemotherapy were not fully investigated. We aimed to investigate whether the planned immediate chemotherapy is related to the decision to undergo oocyte/embryo cryopreservation for FP with adjustment for other clinical characteristics.

To make all students benefit from the dental basic research course without causing excessive academic burden, the "flexible" compulsory dental basic research course (CDBRC) was settled in 2020. This study intends to introduce the "flexible" compulsory teaching module and assessment system of CDBRC, and analyze its effectiveness over 3 years.

To date, only about 20 NUT carcinomas arising from the thyroid have been reported in the literature, with the majority showing immunohistochemical markers indicative of squamous differentiation. We present a 29-year-old man with NUT carcinoma arising from thyroid follicular cells.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the ability of infrared wavenumber of calculus to predict postoperative infection in patients with upper urinary tract calculus (UUTC), and to establish a predictive model based on this. From March 2018 to March 2023, 480 UUTC patients from Fujian Provincial Hospital were included in this study. The infrared-wavenumbers related infection score (IR-infection score) was constructed by univariate analysis, multicollinearity screening, and Lasso analysis to predict postoperative infection.

Despite its protective effects on red blood cell (RBC) storage, concerns about its reproductive toxicity exist. This study investigated the in vitro quality of RBC concentrates stored in bags using di(isononyl) cyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylate (DINCH) as an alternative plasticizer.

Background And Purpose: To ensure data privacy, the development of defacing processes, which anonymize brain images by obscuring facial features, is crucial. However, the impact of these defacing methods on brain imaging analysis poses significant concern. This study aimed to evaluate the reliability of three different defacing methods in automated brain volumetry.

Targeted emergency care and psychological nursing are widely applied in clinical practice, but their value and impact on the management of pediatric febrile convulsions are unclear.
Aim: To determine the impact of targeted emergency nursing combined with psychological nursing on satisfaction in children with febrile convulsions.
Camellia oleifera shells (COS) are commonly discarded as an agricultural by-product. Effective utilization of COS can not only reduce environmental pollution but also enhance the value of the tea-oil industry. The unique composition of COS, with high hemicellulose and low cellulose content, makes it suitable for the production of film materials.

Bisphenol A (BPA) and phthalate (PAEs) are prevalent and potentially toxic to human health. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the associations between urinary level of BPA, PAEs, 8-iso-prostaglandin-F2α (8-iso-PGF2α), and EBPs.

Design: Cross-sectional study.
Setting: Total Healthcare Center in South Korea.
Background: Brain and cortical atrophy play crucial roles in supporting the clinical diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). This study hypothesized that the ratios of brain or cortical volume to subcortical gray matter structure volumes are potential imaging markers for cognitive alterations in AD dementia and amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI).
Methods: Seventy-seven subjects diagnosed with AD dementia or aMCI underwent baseline neuropsychological testing, 2-year follow-up cognitive assessments, and high-resolution T1-weighted MRI scans.
Background: Overactive bladder (OAB) is a common condition in middle-aged and older women. It has been reported to be potentially linked to cognitive decline, particularly in older adults. This study investigated the association between OAB symptoms and cognitive impairment in middle-aged women.

Objectives: This study aimed to establish a comprehensive human erythrocyte antigen (HEA) frequency data set for Koreans. It also sought to develop a mobile app that facilitates the calculation of the frequencies of specific antigen-negative red blood cell units and the average number of units required for antigen typing.
Methods: Human erythrocyte antigen frequencies were compiled from large-scale blood donor data and 5 previous papers.
Background: Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction is a major global public health problem, while effective risk stratification tools are still lacking. We sought to construct a multi-mRNA signature to predict 1-year all-cause death.
Methods: We selected 30 patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction who died during 1-year follow-up and 30 who survived in the discovery set.
