Objective: The study aimed to provide clinical evidence regarding the perinatal management of HbH disease by comparing and analyzing blood routine, anemia characteristics, and their influence on pregnancy outcomes in patients with common deletional and non-deletional HbH disease at various pregnancy stages.
Patients And Methods: From May 2017 to October 2023, a comparative analysis was conducted on pregnant women undergoing treatment at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University and the Second Nanning People's Hospital. The study included 42 cases of deletional HbB disease and 32 cases of non-deletional HbH disease.
Purpose: To compare graft remodeling, as measured by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and clinical outcomes between patients who underwent isolated anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) versus combined anterior cruciate ligament and anterolateral ligament reconstruction (ACLR + ALLR).
Methods: A retrospective review was conducted on patients who underwent primary ACLR with quadruple hamstring grafts between January 2019 and March 2022, with a minimum follow-up period of 2 years. Patients were categorized into 2 groups on the basis of the addition of ALLR with tibialis anterior allografts: an isolated ACLR group and an ACLR + ALLR group.
Monotherapy has poor accuracy and is easily restricted by tumor microenvironment (TME). Remodeling components of the TME to activate multimodal cancer therapy with high precision and efficiency is worth exploring. A multifunctional nanoreactor was fabricated by decorating chlorin e6-modified and PEGylated hyaluronic acid bearing diethylenetriamine-conjugated dihydrolipoic acid on the surface of glucose oxidase (GOx)-loaded hollow mesoporous CuS nanoparticles (labeled as GOx@HCuS@HA).

However, overcoming biological barriers to achieve mitochondria-targeted PDT remains a major challenge. Herein, CD44- and mitochondria-targeted photodynamic nanosystems were fabricated through the self-assembly of hyaluronic acid-conjugated-methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)-diethylenetriamine-grafted-(chlorin e6-dihydrolipoic acid-(3-carboxypropyl)triphenylphosphine bromide) polymeric ligands (HA-c-mPEG-Deta--(Ce6-DHLA-TPP)) and NaErF:Tm@NaYF core-shell UCNPs (termed CMPNs).

Purpose: This study aims to quantitatively assess the predictability of post-resection gap dimensions and the attainment of balanced gaps using robotic arm-assisted total knee arthroplasty (TKA).
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 100 consecutive patients who underwent robotic arm-assisted TKA for knee osteoarthritis using a restricted functional alignment (FA) technique. Tibial cuts were performed based on preoperative tibial anatomy within predefined boundaries, followed by femoral component adjustments according to tensioned soft tissues to optimise gap balance.
Objective: To examine the increased use of chairside CAD/CAM among Chinese dental practitioners, and to explore the existing barriers influencing its further application and satisfaction levels.
Methods: A semi-structured questionnaire was developed to gather respondents' demographic information, as well as their experiences and behaviours regarding the implementation of chairside CAD/CAM. A specialised web-based survey system and WeChat were used to display and distribute the final questionnaire.
Purpose: To compare the anterior and posterior trans-septal (TS) portal approaches in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) by evaluating femoral tunnel positioning and passive anterior tibial subluxation (PATS).
Methods: A total of 205 patients who underwent primary ACLR using the outside-in technique between March 2018 and December 2021 were retrospectively enrolled. Patients were classified into two groups based on the viewing techniques: the anterior group was treated using anteromedial or anterolateral portals (n = 155), and the TS group was treated using posterior TS portal (n = 55).
Background: The Coronal Plane Alignment of the Knee (CPAK) classification system has been developed as a comprehensive system that describes 9 coronal plane phenotypes based on constitutional limb alignment and joint line obliquity (JLO). Due to the characteristics of Asian populations, which show more varus and wider distribution in lower limb alignment than other populations, modification of the boundaries of the arithmetic hip-knee-ankle angle (aHKA) and JLO should be considered. The purpose of this study was to determine the knee phenotype in a Korean population based on the original CPAK and modified CPAK classification systems.

This study aimed to identify informative variables associated with HTO treatment success and to develop and internally validate machine learning algorithms to predict which patients will achieve HTO treatment success for medial compartmental osteoarthritis.
Methods: This study retrospectively reviewed patients who underwent medial opening-wedge HTO (MOWHTO) at our center between March 2010 and December 2015.
Update: This article was updated on May 15, 2024 because of previous errors, which were discovered after the preliminary version of the article was posted online. On page 898, in the section entitled "Materials and Methods," the sentence that had read "The WBL ratio of the knee joint was defined as the point where the GA or MA passed through the width of the tibia and intersected a line from the center of the femoral head to the center of the calcaneus (for the GA) or talus (for the MA), with the medial edge defined as 0% and the lateral edge as 100%." now reads "The WBL ratio of the knee joint was defined as the point where the GA or MA passed through the width of the tibia and intersected a line from the center of the femoral head to the lowest point of the calcaneus (for the GA) or the center of the talus (for the MA), with the medial edge defined as 0% and the lateral edge as 100%.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the outcomes of 41 patients with fungal PJIs after primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in a single centre from January 1999 to October 2017. During the first stage of resection arthroplasty, antifungal-impregnated cement spacers (AICSs) were implanted in all patients.
Tumor phototheranostics is usually compromised by the hypoxic tumor microenvironment and poor theranostic efficiency. The interplay between organic polymers and inorganic nanoparticles in novel nanocomposites has proven to be advantageous, overcoming previous limitations and harnessing their full potential through activation via the tumor microenvironment. This study successfully fabricated hypoxia-activated nanocolloids called HOISNDs through a process of self-assembly involving superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) and an organic polymer ligand called tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl) porphyrin (TCPP)-engineered organic polymer ligand [methoxy poly(ethyleneglycol)--poly(dopamine-ethylenediamine-conjugated-4-nitrobenzyl chloroformate)-l-glutamate, mPEG--P(Dopa-EDA--NBCF)LG-TCPP)].

In this study, unique hypoxia-activated hyaluronic acid nanogels (HANGs) were reported for CD44-targeted delivery of photosensitizers (chlorin e6, Ce6) for diagnostic imaging and photodynamic therapy (PDT) of cancers. Through the use of a hypoxia-responsive cross-linker (AZO-CDI), the HANGs were prepared by chemically cross-linking primary amine groups-functionalized hyaluronic acid (HA). Under normoxic condition, fluorescence of Ce6 conjugated on the HANGs was highly quenched, and level of reactive oxygen species (ROS) generated from the HANGs was rather low after laser irradiation.

Correct alignment of the limb mechanical axis is a principal goal of open-wedge high tibial osteotomy and determines successful postoperative outcomes. Excessive postoperative joint line obliquity must be avoided. A mechanical medial proximal tibial angle (mMPTA) less than 95° results in poor outcomes.
