This study aims to comprehensively analyze the role of the exportin (XPO) family in the development and progression of cancer. These nuclear transport proteins have been increasingly recognized for their involvement in oncogenic processes and tumor growth. We utilized updated public databases and bioinformatics tools to assess the expression levels of the XPO family and their associations with key oncological markers including patient survival, immune subtypes, tumor microenvironment, stemness scores, drug sensitivity, and DNA methylation across various cancers.

Based on our previous studies, the reconstruction of interlayer edges of black phosphorene (BP) is identified as a key factor impeding the growth of large-size BP films through the CVD method. In this study, we systematically explore the complex growth mechanisms of BP, specifically focusing on how edge reconstruction influences the growth of BP. The results reveal that BP with reconstructed edges is highly stable.

Targeted drug delivery systems exploiting the acidic tumor microenvironment have been thriving, with responsive modifications to the active sites like hydroxyl groups enhancing stability, reducing toxicity, and boosting targeted bioavailability. Yet, the utility of hydroxyl-based acid-sensitive linkages is currently constrained by the intricacy of synthesis, questionable stability, and an inability to discern between physiological pH levels associated with health and disease. Here, we unveiled a novel hydroxyl-based acid-labile linkage, the "acetal ester bond", which not only excelled in its hypersensitive acid responsiveness, but was also facile to synthesize, with exceptionally high yields (>80 %) of final products derived from primary, linear secondary, cyclic secondary, and tertiary alcohols consistently, demonstrating its broad applicability.

Worldwide forest fires have occurred frequently in recent years, a result of which may be the emission of so-called "legacy" organochlorine pollutants (OCPs) accumulated in forests. However, few studies have measured the emission factors (EFs) of the toxicity of the OCPs from forest fires. In this study, the EFs of vegetation burning were observed in forests along the altitudinal gradient from 1000 to 4200 m, and the EFs of ∑DDTs (dechlorodiphenylthrichloroethanes), HCB (hexachlorobenzene), ∑HCHs (hexachlorocyclohexanes), and ∑PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls) were 2050 ± 1175, 379 ± 409, 48 ± 51, and 65 ± 59 ng/kg, respectively.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) brings new hope for the treatment of breast cancer due to few side effects and highly effective cell killing; however, the low bioavailability of traditional photosensitizers (PSs) and their dependence on oxygen severely limits their application. Aggregation-induced emission (AIE) PSs can dramatically facilitate the photosensitization effect, which can have positive impacts on tumor PDT. To-date, most AIE PSs lack tumor targeting capability and possess poor cell delivery, resulting in their use in large quantities that are harmful to healthy tissues.

Primary breast large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC)/squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), also referred to as mixed neuroendocrine/non-neuroendocrine neoplasms of the breast (Br-MiNENs), represents an exceedingly rare malignancy. We report the first case of primary breast LCNEC/SCC diagnosed via ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy of the left supraclavicular and left internal mammary lymph nodes. The patient, a 40-year-old female, underwent a lumpectomy followed by breast-conserving surgery and was diagnosed with primary breast LCNEC.

Tremella fuciformis polysaccharides (TFPS) belong to natural bioactive macromolecule with both edible and medicinal value, possessing much bioactivities such as anti-tumor, antioxidant, antidiabetics, and immunomodulatory. Currently, the production of TFPS through submerged fermentation (TFPS-1) is gradually replacing the polysaccharides extracted from the fruiting body due to improved fermentation efficiency and reduced separation costs.
