Alcohol-related liver disease (ALD) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. It encompasses conditions such as fatty liver, alcoholic hepatitis, chronic hepatitis with liver fibrosis or cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Numerous recent studies have demonstrated the critical role of oxidative stress, abnormal lipid metabolism, endoplasmic reticulum stress, various forms of cell death (including apoptosis, necroptosis, and ferroptosis), intestinal microbiota dysbiosis, liver immune response, cell autophagy, and epigenetic abnormalities in the pathogenesis of ALD.

LuN@C was found to undergo a reversible n- to p-type conversion at ∼8.9 GPa.

This meta-analysis evaluated plant responses to exogenous EBR under HM stress by compiling data from 73 studies, including 2480 observations. Results showed that the most significant effects of exogenous EBR on plant growth and HM uptake parameters were observed on shoot/root length (47.

However, uncertainties persist regarding m-TESE outcomes and influencing factors following cryptorchidism surgery. A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to evaluate sperm retrieval rates (SRR) among patients undergoing m-TESE after cryptorchidism surgery.

Since both inflammatory and autoimmune diseases are linked to immune cells regulation, this study investigated the association between TM9SF1 expression and autoimmune disease activity. As B cell differentiation and autoantibody production exacerbate autoimmune disease, the signaling pathways involved in these processes were explored.

Herein, undercoordinated Ni-N moieties anchored on N,S-codoped porous carbon (Ni-NSC) is obtained to enhance the SROR. The experiments and theoretical calculations indicate that the symmetry-breaking charge transfer in Ni single-atom catalyst originates from tuning effect of sulfur atoms mediated Ni-N moieties, which can both facilitate the chemical adsorption by formation of N-Ni⋅⋅⋅S , and achieve a rapid redox conversion of polysulfides because of the enhanced electron transfer.

The increasingly intricate electromagnetic environment necessitates higher anti-electromagnetic interference capabilities for electronic devices, thereby demanding a flexible absorbing material that can adapt to multiple forms, is lightweight, and exhibits excellent electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption properties. In this study, we have developed a novel flexible absorbing material (FAM) based on glass-coated amorphous magnetic fibers (SFs) and Dallenbach-like absorbing structures through wet forming technology. By combining high-performance absorbing fiber with textile structures, the FAM demonstrates EMW absorption performance along with lightweight flexibility and shape adaptability.

Objectives: To establish a nomogram incorporating clinical characteristics to predict the risk of breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL).
Methods: In this retrospective study, we included 200 consecutive patients with breast cancer undergoing radical mastectomy from January 2022 to December 2023. Of these, 98 patients diagnosed with BCRL were designated as the experimental group, while 102 patients served as the control group.
As a high-performance energy storage device consisting of a battery-type anode and a capacitor-type cathode, hybrid lithium-ion capacitors (HLICs) combine the advantages of high energy density of batteries and high power density of capacitors. However, the imbalance in electrochemical kinetics between the battery-type anode and the capacitor-type cathode hinders the further development of HLICs. Fully conjugated covalent organic frameworks have great potential as electrode materials for HLICs due to the designability of their structure.

A tumor related to NPC does not have flat surfaces, but consists of confined microenvironments, proteins, and surface topography. To mimic the complex microenvironment, three-dimensional platforms with microwells and connecting channels were designed and developed with a fibronectin (FN) coating or nanohole topography.

However, the frequent mask replacement as a result of the lack of pathogen sterilization ability not only increases the cross-contamination risk but also, even worse, produces a large amount of medical waste. In this work, we report on a ketonized carbonitride functionalized bioprotective face mask with pathogen sterilization activity that can effectively produce biocidal singlet oxygen triggered by light irradiation.

Introduction: Complement was long thought not to be involved in ANCA vasculitis pathogenesis until studies in murine models demonstrated its central role. The current theory is ANCA-activated neutrophils degranulate and release factors that activate complement, which, in turn, recruits more neutrophils and causes an inflammatory amplification loop that results in the vascular inflammation characteristic of disease. Targeting this amplification loop through complement inhibition has proven to be effective in ANCA vasculitis treatment.

Necrotizing and crescentic glomerulonephritis (NCGN) occurs in all syndromes and as renal limited vasculitis (RLV). Single-dose intravenous ANCA IgG-specific for mouse myeloperoxidase (MPO) causes RLV in mice.

However, research into patency time, semen quality postpatency, and associated influencing factors remains limited. This study aimed to address these issues by evaluating 181 patients who underwent at least one-sided MVE employing asingle-armed longitudinal intussusception vasoepididymostomy technique, with a follow-up period of over 12 months for 150 patients.
