The aim of our retrospective study is to develop and assess an imaging-based model utilizing F-FDG PET parameters for predicting the five-year survival in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients after curative surgery. A total of 361 NSCLC patients who underwent curative surgery were assigned to the training set ( = 253) and the test set ( = 108). The LASSO regression model was used to construct a PET-based risk score for predicting five-year survival.

Background: We sought to quantify diffuse parenchymal lung disease (DPLD) extent using quantitative computed tomography (CT) analysis and to investigate its association with radiation pneumonitis (RP) development in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients receiving definitive concurrent chemoradiation therapy (CCRT).

Methods: A total of 82 NSCLC patients undergoing definitive CCRT were included in this prospective cohort study. Pretreatment CT scans were analyzed using quantitative CT analysis software.

Texture analysis provides image parameters from F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG PET/CT). Although some parameters are associated with tumor biology and clinical features, the types and implications of these parameters are complicated. We applied pseudotime analysis, which has recently been used to estimate changes in individual sample characteristics, to texture parameters from FDG PET/CT images of locally advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients undergoing neoadjuvant concurrent chemoradiation therapy (CCRT) followed by surgery.
