Fracture toughness is an important index related to the service safety of marine risers, and weld is an essential component of the steel catenary risers. In this paper, microscopic structure characterization methods such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electron back scatter diffraction (EBSD), as well as mechanical experiments like crack tip opening displacement (CTOD) and nanoindentation, were employed to conduct a detailed study on the influence of the microstructure characteristics of multi-wire submerged arc welded seams of steel catenary riser pipes on CTOD fracture toughness. The influence mechanisms of each microstructure characteristic on fracture toughness were clarified.

While a T cell inflamed gene expression profile (GEP) has predicted anti-PD-1 response in various cancers, it failed in a large NSCLC cohort from the Stand Up To Cancer-Mark (SU2C-MARK) Foundation. Re-analysis revealed that while the T cell inflamed GEP alone was not predictive, its performance improved significantly when combined with gene signatures of myeloid cell markers.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) hold enormous promise for treating bacterial infections to circumvent the threat of antibiotic resistance. However, positioning MOFs on wound dressings is hindered and remains a significant challenge. Herein, a facile heterointerfacial engineering strategy was developed to tailor the "MOF armor" that adaptively weaponized the poly(ε-caprolactone) electrospun dressing with excellent bacteria-killing efficacy.

Walp (Maca) is a plant with potential medicinal effects in treating depression. Recently, there has been growing interest in plant-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) due to their low toxicity and ability to transport to human cells.

Our system employs a pulse modulator to generate a double pulse and achieves linear phase modulation of one pulse by one cycle through a phase modulator. The phase change can be quantitatively demodulated using our proposed N-step phase-shifted demodulation algorithm.

A total of 76 patients with colorectal cancer and 156 lymph nodes were included. The clinical data of the patients were collected, including gender, age, tumor location and size, preoperative tumor markers, etc.

Firstly, few-layer WS nanosheets were prepared by shear stripping and characterized by SEM, TEM, AFM and UV spectrophotometer. After modification of few-layer WS nanosheets on the electrode surface, the miRNA probe was fixed on the few-layer WS nanosheets by polycytosine (PolyC).

The dzo is the male F1 offspring of an interspecific hybrid between a domestic bull (Bos taurus ♂) and a yak (Bos grunniens ♀) which exhibits male sterility. This study aimed to identify the testis-specific genes and AS associated with hybrid male sterility in dzo.

Astrocytes play vital roles in the central nervous system, contributing significantly to both its normal functioning and pathological conditions. While their involvement in various diseases is increasingly recognized, their exact role in demyelinating lesions remains uncertain. Astrocytes have the potential to influence demyelination positively or negatively.

Many tools and workflows have been developed to perform different types of analyses. However, these tools are spread across different packages or programming environments, rely on different underlying data structures, and can only be utilized by people with knowledge of programming languages.

Objective: To resolve the problem of the lack of sensory stimulation from the colors and aromas of food when patients are given enteral nutrition support by tube feeding or simple oral administration, an immersive virtual reality (VR) sham feeding device integrating audio, visual, and olfactory sense perceptions was developed independently and the usability of the device was tested.
Methods: Relying on the multidisciplinary cooperation of nursing, mechanical engineering, and computer science and using as a reference the characteristics of gastric tube and oxygen tube placement in clinical patients, we carried out 3D modeling and printing of the exterior framework of the odor box. Unlabelled: A greater understanding of molecular, cellular, and immunological changes during the early stages of lung adenocarcinoma development could improve diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in patients with pulmonary nodules at risk for lung cancer. To elucidate the immunopathogenesis of early lung tumorigenesis, we evaluated surgically resected pulmonary nodules representing the spectrum of early lung adenocarcinoma as well as associated normal lung tissues using single-cell RNA sequencing and validated the results by flow cytometry and multiplex immunofluorescence (MIF). Single-cell transcriptomics revealed a significant decrease in gene expression associated with cytolytic activities of tumor-infiltrating natural killer and natural killer T cells.

It significantly improves the performance of the distributed acoustic sensing system (DAS) because the intensity of the reflected signal is much higher than that of the Rayleigh backscattering. This paper shows that Rayleigh backscattering (RBS) has become one of the primary noise sources in the UWFBG array-based Φ-OTDR system.

We demonstrate a stable homodyne phase demodulation method with a double pulse based on an ultra-weak fiber Bragg grating (UWFBG) array. The technique divides one of the probe pulses into three sections and introduces successive 2π/3 phase differences into each section. By using a simple direct detection scheme, it can achieve distributed and quantitative vibration measurement along the UWFBG array.
