Strict air pollution control measures were conducted during the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) period at Nanjing city and surrounding areas in August 2014. This event provides a unique chance to evaluate the effect of government control measures on regional atmospheric pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Many previous studies have observed significant reductions of atmospheric pollution species and improvement in air quality, while no study has quantified its synergism on anthropogenic CO emissions, which can be co-reduced with air pollutants.

The methods with multi-sensor data fusion have been a remarkable way to improve the accuracy and robustness of bearing fault diagnosis under complicated conditions. However, most of the existing fusion models or methods belong to single fusion level and simple fusion structure is usually utilized, and the correlation and complementarity of information between multi-sensor data might be easily ignored. In order to improve the performance of fault diagnosis with multi-sensor data fusion, this paper proposes a novel model of multi-layer deep fusion network with attention mechanism (AMMFN).

Non-clinical cardiovascular drug safety assessment is the main step in the progress of new pharmaceutical products. Cardiac drug safety testing focuses on a delayed rectifier potassium channel block and QT interval prolongation, whereas optogenetics is a powerful technology for modulating the electrophysiological properties of excitable cells. For this purpose, the blue light-gated ion channel, channelrhodopsin-2 (ChR2), has been introduced into isolated primary neonatal cardiomyocytes via a lentiviral vector.

Teen dating violence (TDV) and school violence (SV) are two major social problems in adolescence. Until recently, the antecedents of both TDV and SV have been analyzed largely independently of each other. This study analyses and compares the determinants of both TDV and SV, with a focus on physical violence.

Objectives: Adolescents' exposure to violence between parents acts as a precursor to risky behaviors; however, empirical studies that examined the potential pathways from exposure to violence between parents to risky behaviors are rare. Consequently, the prevention and intervention strategies for risky sexual activities are limited without the identification of malleable mediators.

Methods: Mediators on the association between adolescent exposure to parental fighting and risky sexual activities are examined, which include internalizing behaviors, running away from home, and affiliation with risky peers.

The immunosuppressive, inflammatory microenvironment orchestrated by neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) plays a principal role in pathogenesis of sepsis. Fibroblast growth factor-inducible molecule 14 (Fn14) has been established as a potential target for septic acute kidney injury (AKI), making further therapeutic benefits from combined NETs and Fn14 blockade possible. The concurrence of NETs and Fn14 in mice and patients with septic AKI were assessed by immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and studies.

Taking the influence of alloying elements into consideration, a hardness prediction model based on a newly proposed parameter named actual carbon diffusion time (ACDT), which was calculated by combining temperature history with carbon diffusivity, is developed in this paper. The hardness distribution was directly derived from a 3D thermal model, which was constructed to simulate the laser surface hardening of AISI 1045, and from which the temperature history was also obtained. Using this 3D thermal model, the geometric characteristics after laser hardening (e.

Sirtuins are a family of NAD -dependent deacetylases implicated in a wide variety of age-associated pathologies, including cardiovascular disorders. Among the seven mammalian sirtuins, SIRT2 modulates various cellular processes through the deacetylation or deacylation of their target proteins. Notably, the levels of SIRT2 in the heart decline with age and other pathological conditions, leading to cardiovascular dysfunction.

The porous oil-containing cage achieves the storage, spillage, and suction of lubricating oil by its micro-pore structure, thus ensuring the self-lubricating performance of the bearing. Carrying out fast and accurate modeling of the cage microscopic pore structure is the key to the analysis of the self-lubricating mechanism of bearings. In response to the issues where current modeling methods of porous materials have a low similarity of pore distribution, morphology, structure, and size characteristics, and the transition of pore surfaces is sharp, this paper proposed a modeling method of a highly similar micro-pore structure based on the idea of median filtering, the quartet structure generation set (QSGS), and the slice method.

We tested a proposed conceptual framework in which we hypothesized that witnessing parental intimate partner violence (witnessing parental IPV) is linked to children's bullying and peer victimization. We also hypothesized that the relationship between witnessing parental IPV and bullying and peer victimization in childhood would be mediated by increased psychological problem behavior, school absences, and problematic peer interactions. We utilized data from the National Survey of Children's Health.
