Background And Objectives: Cilostazol improves ischemic symptoms and prevents recurrence following cerebral infarction, and rosuvastatin reduces cholesterol levels. However, no reports exist on the pharmacokinetic interactions between these two drugs in healthy adults. This study evaluated the pharmacokinetic (PK) interactions and safety of cilostazol and rosuvastatin when co-administered to healthy male participants.

This study compares survival outcomes and treatment costs between patients receiving SCRT and those undergoing standard long-course radiation therapy (LCRT).
Methods: This retrospective study utilized health insurance claims and national cancer registry data from Korea to compare overall survival (OS) and treatment costs between patients receiving SCRT and LCRT across all ages and sub-group analysis within the subgroup of cases aged 65 and older from 2016 onwards, a period when intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) was widely adopted.
Purpose: To evaluate recurrence patterns of and survival outcomes in glioblastoma treated with intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) versus three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT).
Materials And Methods: We retrospectively examined 91 patients with glioblastoma treated with either IMRT (n = 60) or 3D-CRT (n = 31) between January 2013 and December 2019. Magnetic resonance imaging showing tumor recurrence and planning computed tomography scans were fused for analyzing recurrence patterns categorized as in-field, marginal, and out-of-field based on their relation to the initial radiation field.
Purpose: Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) bounce is a common phenomenon that can be observed in patients of prostate cancer treated by radiotherapy. However, the clinical, pathological, or dosimetric predictors and clinical significance of PSA bounce in stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) patients is still unknown.
Methods: Between August 2006 to December 2015, 74 prostate cancer patients were treated by SBRT with Cyberknife at two medical centers.
Introduction: Fixed-dose combinations (FDCs) of angiotensin II receptor blockers, calcium channel blockers, and statins are conventional therapeutic interventions prescribed for cardiovascular diseases. This study aimed at drawing a comparison between the pharmacokinetics and safety of an FDC and the corresponding individual formulations in healthy subjects.
Methods: A randomized, open-label, single-dose, three-sequence, three-period, partially repeated crossover study was conducted with a cohort of healthy volunteers.
The combined cilostazol and rosuvastatin therapy is frequently used for coronary artery disease treatment. This open-label, 3 × 3 crossover clinical trial evaluated the pharmacokinetics and safety of a fixed-dose combination (FDC) of cilostazol/rosuvastatin (200 + 20 mg) versus a concurrent administration of the separate components (SCs) under both fasted and fed conditions. Among 48 enrolled healthy adults, 38 completed the study.

This prospective study aimed to investigate the distribution and elimination kinetics of midazolam (MDZ) and its metabolites, and their association with awakening time. The concentrations of MDZ and its seven metabolites were measured immediately and at 4, 8, 12, and 24 h after the discontinuation of MDZ infusion, using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry.

Research Design And Methods: This double-blind, two-arm, parallel-group, Phase 1 study randomized (1:1) healthy males to a single (60-mg) subcutaneous dose of CT‑P41 or US-denosumab. Primary endpoints were area under the concentration - time curve (AUC) from time zero to infinity (AUC), AUC from time zero to the last quantifiable concentration (AUC), and maximum serum concentration (C).
Aberrant regulation of the long non-coding RNA SRY-box transcription factor 2 overlapping transcript (SOX2OT) has been reported in various diseases including gastric cancer (GC). However, an association between the well-studied rs9839776 single nucleotide polymorphism in SOX2OT and GC susceptibility has not been reported. This study aimed to evaluate the association between the rs9839776 single nucleotide polymorphism in SOX2OT and GC risk.

Furthermore, in vitro experiments have confirmed the potential of camostat and its metabolites to be effective against COVID-19. Therefore, clinical trials were conducted to evaluate the safety and pharmacokinetic characteristics of camostat after single-dose administration.

Research Question: To evaluate the incidence of IPC-related cancer tract seeding and find out related demographic, clinical or imaging factors to the tract seeding.
Study Design And Methods: This retrospective study included 124 consecutive patients seen between January 2011 and December 2021 who underwent IPC placement for malignant pleural effusion drainage.
Although research into ultrahigh dose-rate (UHDR) radiation therapy is ongoing, there is a significant lack of experimental measurements for two-dimensional (2D) dose-rate distributions. Additionally, conventional pixel-type detectors result in significant beam loss. In this study, we developed a pixel array-type detector with adjustable gaps and a data acquisition system to evaluate its effectiveness in measuring UHDR proton beams in real time.

The purpose of this retrospective analysis of low-grade brain tumor patients treated by RT alone is to determine significant factors influencing neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), absolute neutrophil counts (ANC), and absolute lymphocyte counts (ALC).
Materials And Methods: A total of 41 patients who received RT between 2007 and 2020 were analyzed.
Purpose: The optimal short-course chemotherapeutic regimen for rectal cancer has not been clearly defined until now. KROG 10-01 and KROG 11-02 prospective trials investigated the efficacy and safety of 1- and 2-week chemoradiotherapy (CRT), respectively.
Materials And Methods: Patients eligible for KROG 10-01 and KROG 11-02 involved those with clinical T3-4N0-2M0 rectal cancers.
The activation of receptor-interacting protein kinase 1 (RIPK1) by death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) formation is essential for triggering the necroptotic mode of cell death under apoptosis-deficient conditions. Thus, targeting the induction of necroptosis by modulating RIPK1 activity could be an effective strategy to bypass apoptosis resistance in certain types of cancer. In this study, we screened a series of arborinane triterpenoids purified from Rubia philippinesis and identified rubiarbonol B (Ru-B) as a potent caspase-8 activator that induces DISC-mediated apoptosis in multiple types of cancer cells.

As such, this study aimed to examine the perception of the public about the government's campaign against COVID-19. Moreover, this study investigated the more effective messaging strategies for the campaign through subjective values, thoughts, and attitudes about the information dissemination, which became the basis for the degree of people's participation in the disease prevention campaign. METHOD : In order to investigate the public perception on the campaign messages that are promoted by the government for prevention of COVID-19, this study implemented the Q methodology that studies subjective attributes of humans, unlike existing empirical studies.
