This study aimed to explore the association between air pollutants and outpatient visits for influenza-like illnesses (ILI) under the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) stage in the subcenter of Beijing. The data on ILI in the subcenter of Beijing from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2020 were obtained from the Beijing Influenza Surveillance Network. A generalized additive Poisson model was applied to examine the associations between the concentrations of air pollutants and daily outpatient visits for ILI when controlling meteorological factors and temporal trend.

Gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)can cause blood glucose disorders in pregnant women and result in adverse maternal-neonatal outcomes.Vitamin D(VD)can improve glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity,and thus theoretically,VD supplementation during pregnancy could improve glycemic control as well as maternal-neonatal outcomes in GDM patients.Although studies have shown that VD deficiency is associated with poor maternal-neonatal outcomes in GDM patients,no solid conclusion has been drawn with regard to the effects of VD supplementation on these patients.

Background: 4-vinylcyclohexene diepoxide (VCD) has long been considered a hazardous occupational chemical that promotes ovarian failure. However, VCD is also used as a research compound to chemically induce animal models of premature ovarian insufficiency (POI), and in related work we unexpectedly found that VCD apparently exhibits both dose- and duration-dependent opposing, hormone-like effects on the maintenance of the primordial follicle pool, follicle development, and ovulation induction.

Results: We conducted experiments with cultured murine ovaries and performed transplantation experiments using postnatal day (PD) 2 and PD12 mice and found that low-dose, short-term exposure to VCD (VCD) actually protects the primordial/primary follicle pool and improves the functional ovarian reserve (FOR) by disrupting follicular atresia.

The multi-load AGV (Automatic Guided Vehicle) is a new kind of materials handling equipment used to load cloth automatically in an intelligent weaving workshop. It can transport multiple rolls of cloth and choose the correct, most effective path to improve the transportation efficiency without people engaged in. The application of large amounts of nitrogen (N) fertilizer can result in soil N accumulation and consequently N loss. To address these problems in a wheat-maize rotation area of the North China Plain, a two-year field experiment (2016-2017) was conducted to examine the effects of three different N fertilizer strategies on crop yield, N uptake, N loss and soil inorganic N content. A phospholipase Dα gene ( AnPLDα ) was cloned from xerophytic desert plant Ammopiptanthus nanus and its overexpression enhanced salt tolerance of a PLDα1 deficient Arabidopsis mutant. Phospholipase Dα (PLDα) hydrolyzes phosphatidylcholine to produce phosphatidic acid, and plays crucial role in plant tolerance to abiotic stress. In this study, a phospholipase Dα gene (AnPLDα) was cloned from xerophyte Ammopiptanthus nanus by the methods of homologous cloning and rapid amplification of cDNA ends, and evaluated for its function in stress tolerance.

A new dicoumarin, named as dimeresculetin (1), together with another dicoumarin, euphorbetin (2) and esculetin (3) were isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of the dried whole plants of Viola yedoensis Makino. The structure of 1 was elucidated as 7-hydroxy-6-[(6,7-dihydroxy-2-oxo-2H-1-benzopyran-5-yl)oxy]-2H-1-benzopyran-2-one on the basis of extensive NMR, as well as the other spectral analysis. The present study was designed to compare the functional outcome of the intraspinal transplantation of CD34+ human umbilical cord blood (CB) cells with that of human bone marrow stromal (BMS) cells in adult rats with spinal cord injury. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are useful physical markers for genetic studies as well as the cause of some genetic diseases. To develop more reliable SNP assays, we examined the underlying molecular mechanisms by which deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) polymerases with 3' exonuclease activity maintain the high fidelity of DNA replication. In addition to mismatch removal by proofreading, we have discovered a premature termination of polymerization mediated by a novel OFF-switch mechanism.
