Three different UV-LED wavelengths (265, 310, and 365 nm) were used in the UV-LED/chlorine reaction to investigate the degradation mechanism of iopromide (IPM) at different wavelengths, a representative iodinated contrast media compound. The degradation rate (k') increased from pH 6-8 at 265 nm, but, decreased as the pH increased up to 9 at 310 nm and 365 nm. Radical scavenging experiments showed that reactive chlorine species (RCS) are the dominant radical species at all wavelengths, but a higher contribution of OH• was observed at lower pH and longer wavelengths.

Background: Thyroid volume has been reported to decrease significantly after episodes of subacute thyroiditis (SAT); however, the relationship between thyroid volume and hypothyroidism remains unclear. This study assessed the association between thyroid volume changes and the hypothyroid phase in patients with SAT, a condition that can progress to persistent hypothyroidism.
Methods: This retrospective study evaluated 37 patients diagnosed with SAT at the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism of Chonnam National University Hwasun Hospital (CNUHH) between 2016 and 2021.
Patients with DNA double-strand breakage repair disorders are at increased risk of malignancy which is often difficult to treat given underlying sensitivity to chemotherapy and radiotherapy, lending an important role to hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The choice of conditioning regimen used must balance reducing risk of rejection with minimizing excessive toxicity from myeloablative chemotherapy or ionizing radiation. We describe successful engraftment following a nonmyeloablative hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in a patient with Ligase IV syndrome and numerous pretransplant complications including malignancy, cardiac failure, and secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis.

Commonly used hydrogel spacers hold the disadvantage that they cannot be readily reversed should inadvertent injection outside of the target area occurs, potentially leading to ischemia of the rectal mucosa leading to severe pain and ulceration, which can then lead to superinfection and pelvic abscess formation, and subsequently recto-prostatic fistulas. Methods: In this tertiary single centre study, a total of 125 consecutive patients receiving IB-MRGB over a three-year period were evaluated, including 73 patients who had prior biopsies and 52 biopsy-naïve patients. We assessed cancer detection rate of patients according to the degree of suspicion based on mpMRI findings.

By controlling the precursor's ratio of aluminum acetylacetonate to oleic acid, UV or blue light-emitting aluminum hydroxides with oxygen defects and carbonyl radicals can be synthesized. As a result, aluminum hydroxide (Al(OH) ) nanoparticles overwhelmingly emit UVA light (390 nm) because of the oxygen defects in nanoparticles, and carbon-related radicals on the nanoparticles are responsible for the blue-light emission at 465 nm.

Seven days after LPS injection, there was a significant loss of neurons and microglial activation in the striatum, visualized by immunohistochemical staining against neuronal nuclei (NeuN) and the OX-42 (complement receptor type 3, CR3), respectively.
