Human overdose with the veterinary tranquilizer xylazine.

Three patients self-injected the veterinary tranquilizing agent xylazine (Rompun). The first patient developed mild bradycardia and hypotension, miosis, and a feeling of disorientation. The other two patients became apneic and required intubation and mechanical ventilation.
