Background And Aims: Recently, there has been an increase in the number of patients treated with immunotherapy. However, the number of studies investigating combination immunotherapies is still limited, resulting in a gap of knowledge regarding the incidence of nutritional side effects, differences in the durations of these side effects, and differences in weight loss between patients undergoing single and combination immunotherapies.

Methods: In this historical cohort study, which was performed from 2017 to 2019, a total of 50 patients who received one type and 50 patients who received two types of immunotherapy were randomly selected, resulting in a sample of 100 patients.

Purpose Of Review: Placebo-controlled randomized trials have demonstrated the efficacy of clopidogrel in combination with aspirin across a broad range of clinical presentations. Recent trials have addressed several remaining issues regarding clopidogrel therapy.

Recent Findings: Three randomized trials examined the role of platelet function testing (PFT) in clopidogrel-treated patients.

Structural requirements for mitotane activity: development of analogs for treatment of adrenal cancer.

Aim: Mitotane is used in adrenal cancer as adjuvant therapy, monotherapy or combined with other cytotoxic agents in advanced disease, but only 30% of patients respond. The aim of this study was to define the structural requirements for drug activity and to develop analogs with improved adrenalytic action.

Materials And Methods: Nine analogs of [1-(2-chlorophenyl)-1-(4-chlorophenyl)-2,2dichloroethane] (o,p'-DDD) were tested by measuring suppression of cortisol secretion and the presence of inflammatory changes in the dog adrenal and inhibition of cell proliferation and cortisol production by NCI-H295 human adrenal cancer cells.

Present-day galvanic-based electrical conductivity measurements are hampered by limitations and necessary corrections, especially in the domain of geological core analysis. Low-accuracy techniques such as crucible, two-electrode, and four-electrode are constricted by current-path requirements, while high-accuracy techniques are time consuming and have limited domains of applicability. We present a novel apparatus capable of electrical conductivity tensor measurements in a noninvasive, noncontact, inductive manner with resolution from 5 mS/m.

Retest reliability of medial frontal negativities during performance monitoring.

The error-related negativity (ERN) and feedback-related negativity (FRN) have been used as electrophysiological indices of performance monitoring produced in response to internally generated (errors) and externally generated (feedback) activations of the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC). No studies to date have systematically examined the measurement reliability of these components. In this article, we present the retest reliability of the ERN and FRN during response tasks designed to elicit errors or feedback responses on two occasions.

Specifically, we compared clinical endpoints of patients who received sirolimus-eluting stents (SES) versus bare-metal stents (BMS) for SVG disease.

Background: Authorities suggest academic medical centers eliminate conflicts of interest. The authors evaluated medical students' opinions and knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry.

Method: An anonymous 20-item questionnaire was administered to medical students from four different medical schools; 15 items addressed opinions, and five items were free-response knowledge questions.

Coffee: good, bad, or just fun? A critical review of coffee's effects on liver enzymes.

Coffee consumption is a regular part of daily life throughout the world. Research into the effects of coffee on human health is ongoing, but a recent study suggests that coffee and caffeine consumption can reduce the risk of elevated alanine aminotransferase activity in individuals at high risk for liver disease. This review will analyze the results of that study in light of the current literature.

The contribution of inhalation exposure to the total dose for residents of the Marshall Islands was monitored at occasions of opportunity on several islands in the Bikini and Enewetak Atolls. To determine the long-term potential for inhalation exposure, and to understand the mechanisms of redistribution and personal exposure, additional investigations were undertaken on Bikini Island under modified and controlled conditions. Historical air-sampling data measured within 320 km (200 mi) of the Nevada Test Site (NTS) have been reviewed for periods following atmospheric nuclear tests, primarily in the 1950s. These data come mostly from high-volume air samplers, with some from cascade-impactor samplers. Measurements considered here are for beta radiation from gross fission products.
