Previous studies attempting to influence the severity of collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) by modulating the LIGHT (lymphotoxin-related inducible ligand that competes for glycoprotein D binding to herpesvirus entry mediator (HVEM) on T cells)/lymphotoxin pathway have yielded conflicting results.
